EASY DIY: Replacing Honda Fender Liner Clips! 7.4 mm Nylon Rivets Needed!

My 2007 Honda Accord fender liners falling off and were making a gap.
It was missing 8 fender liner clips. I wanted to fix this before the liners fall off.My Youtube vlogs may have associated affiliate links to products that I may earn from qualifying purchases.

Not sure if they were missing when I bought the car, but I went ahead and ordered a box of assorted nylon push fasteners and rivets: https://amzn.to/2H1KDUz – they were about $17 dollars or so a whole box of push rivets and it came with trim tools. These were not Honda nylon rivets, as OEM has metal elements in the rivets. They seem a bit fragile but should work. I don’t know if they will last. I needed 7.5 mm rivets for the fender liner. The package had 20 of them. It would have cost about $2 or per rivet at the dealer… 🙁
It only took about 6 minutes but it beats the liner falling off on the road!

For my 2007 Honda Accord, I don’t drive it as much due to my other hybrid vehicles. I keep the battery charged and maintained with a Battery Tender 3 amp ( https://amzn.to/2Lp1CUZ ). I charge it every month, as I want to keep the 12 volt battery from dying.

RTwC #04: How to check / replace Honda Clarity Engine Air Filter.

RoadTripping with Claire #04: How to replace Honda Clarity Engine Air Filter

I put about 8,000 miles in the past four months. The Honda service reminder finally told me it was past due by one day to bring Claire in for a A01 (oil and filter change and tire rotation). After having it serviced, my Honda dealer told me my air filters needed replacing as they were dirty. Ok… I held off and decided to see for myself at home. So i can make a DIY video on how to open and check the air box filter of the 2018 Honda Clarity. 🙂 My Youtube vlogs may have associated affiliate links to products that I may earn from qualifying purchases.

The air box is on the driver side and is held by two metal clips and two slide in plastic tabs. With the car off, open the hood , unlock the two metal clips, and wiggle and slide the top cover of the air box towards the engine to unhook the two plastic tabs. The Honda Clarity engine air filter part is Part # 17220-5WJ-A01 ( Amazon: https://amzn.to/2D2rOy9 ).

Seeing that my air filter is barely used due to the electric drive, I will change mine out in another 8k to 10 k miles, as hybrid engine is only used 30% of the miles I drive. I cleaned up the air box and picked off some leaves and bugs and replaced the filter back into the box and reversed the process to close up air box.

Overall Claire drives well and is very comfortable for road trips with more than two people. The only disadvantage is the small 7 gallon gas tank. I have to refuel 5 gallons when it hits quarter tanks or about every 170 miles.

I hope this vlog helpful. Stay tuned for more RoadTripping with Claire and other Vlogs and DIY about my 2018 Honda Clarity. Costco! Battery Tender 6/12 Volt Battery Charger / Maintainer 3A! $29!!!

Costco has Battery Tender – Battery 6/12 volt Charger / Maintainer 3A for $27!!! Different varieties of Battery Tenders are sold online: https://amzn.to/2MKTb3c .

I typically either disconnect my car battery on the cars i dont drive very often. however with more cars relying on power door locks and hidden driver keys. It may be easier to just keep the car battery charged every 2 weeks of none use.

I use these to keep my other cars which are parked for a long period of time. For my Honda Accord and Dodge Cargo Van, I connect the leave the 3 amp Battery Tender on over the weekend and swap cars every week.  This keeps the cars 12 volt battery from failing and the cars are ready to drive if needed.
