HOW TO FIX: Android Auto NOT CONNECTING to My 2018+ HONDA – AFTER APP UPDATES…

Its been a two weeks since I updated my Android Auto app for my Samsung Note S20 Ultra ( https://amzn.to/3Dgd1fI ) and Samsung S20 FE ( https://amzn.to/3AfHPvk ) smart phones and my 2018 Honda Clarity Honda Head Unit can not connect via USB to the phones for Android Auto I found a fix for it.

I have been using the same high quality USB C cable that came with the Samsung as well as a longer braided JSAUX USB C Cable ( https://amzn.to/2ZO58ji ) for over 3 years with not problems connecting my Samsung Note S20 Ultra ( https://amzn.to/3Dgd1fI ) and Samsung S20 FE ( https://amzn.to/3AfHPvk ) smart phones to.

After the latest Android Auto update, my Honda head unit connected for a less than a minute before disconnecting. I tried clearing the app cache, reinstalling the app, and rebooting the smart phone. I also rebooted the Honda Head unit. My Samsung S20 FE connected after the reboot, however my Note 20 did not.

All the settings on the phone were the same. When checking the Honda infotainment head unit settings. I noticed that both phone profiles were on the head unit, however the Samsung S20 FE was ENABLED and the Samsung Note S 20 Ultra was DISABLED. I enabled the unit and then saw the phone.

For good measure, I DELETED the Note 20 Profile to completely clear the entry and reinstalled the phone to head unit and ALWAYS Allow Android auto permissions for the Samsung Note 20.

It has been working for the past few days. The Honda head unit still drops Bluetooth connection every so often. I believe the Honda Head Unit may need a software update.

Overall, I am glad am I am able to use Android Auto again with my 2018 Honda Clarity, as i miss using the Maps and Google Assistant features. I also miss playing video games on my Honda while parking.

It is an self sticking adhesive foam tape for automotive applications but I always keep a roll handy for other projects that rely need good adhesion. It can be used for car interior trim panels, body side molding, emblems and mounting other light duty items.

I also use 3M Automotive Super Strength Molding Tape ( https://amzn.to/3o9hNYs ) for lowering noisy or creaky car panel trim in the car.
Quick Tip: I store this tape in a zip lock bag so it does not dry out and to keep the sides from getting dusty.

3M Automotive Super Strength Molding Tape ( https://amzn.to/3o9hNYs ) adhesive is highly heat resistant compared to other household foam tape. And is better for mounting car accessories such as car lighting strips in the interior of my car. The original adhesive released after about 2 months while my car was baking during the summer time. Its more stretchy and tacky compared to white foam tape which makes it more flexible and easier to use in many applications.

Here I used it to put a LED light strip into in the foot wells of my car and the glove box for more lighting. I have also used if for mounting dash cams and other car parts. This Viden Car LED lights with remote and powered by USB : (https://amzn.to/3uaLFVj ) glue released after 2 months, fixed with 3M molding tape.

Overall, 3M Automotive Super Strength Molding Tape ( https://amzn.to/3o9hNYs ) great foam tape to have around the house and the garage for diy projects and repair work.

This High Road Backseat Organizer ( https://amzn.to/3AF1tlB ) contains is a trash bin and has a tissue box holder making it very convenient. There are many other High Road larger car organizers ( https://amzn.to/3oaO4hs ) online, however I always like this size the best.

High Road Backseat Organizer ( https://amzn.to/3AF1tlB ) easy to release and empty the bin during a pit stop. It also has a rubber lined trash bin so it is water resistant in the main compartment. It can probably hold about 6 pack of 12 oz cans in the main bin. The top is hinged so it can stay open or closed. I like that it taper to to top so it appears smaller than it really is. Fully open it is a large opening.

The lower half has a tissue box holder, so its convenient to pull a tissue from or to keep your tissue box off the floor of the car. There are two side water bottle holders on the side of with adjustable cinch straps. The only draw back is the head rest strap that doesnt allow my head rest to fully go down. The nylon strap makes a centimeter gap from the base of the head rest.

Overall the High Road Backseat Car organizer ( https://amzn.to/3oaO4hs ) very useful for your daily commute or a road trip in the car. It keeps the trash in one place and ready to be emptied at the next stop.
