5 Gallon Lids REVIEW: Gamma Lids vs Regular Lids vs Flexible Soft lids for Pet Food Storage.

Just a quick comparison between Gamma Lid ($7) vs Food Grade ($5) and Easy Soft ($2) lids for 5 Gallon Pet Food Storage ideas.  I just got a some Gamma lids ( https://amzn.to/2C1uDOF ) to replace one of my older Soft 5 Gallon Lids ( https://amzn.to/2SG1Vdo ) and my food grade 5 gallon lids with spouts ( https://amzn.to/2SzNBTn ) .

Overall I like the convenience of the $2 flexible lids over the Gamma and Food grade lids for pet food as it is easy to open to feed the animals.  They may only last about 2 years and may not be as durable as the other lids, but they are very easy to handle daily.

The Gamma lids are awesome and are air tight for pet food.  The minor issue would be the chance of over tightening the screw top, making it difficult to open. It is a lower price alternative than a dedicated pet food bin with Gamma lids which range from $25- $40 dollars : https://amzn.to/2LTTmJo .    With the Gamma lids I don’t see how these are removable after installing on a 5 gallon bucket. I fear using a bucket tool ( https://amzn.to/2Rto94X ) may break the thin lid walls during removal.

The food grade commercial lids with spouts  that came with my food grade buckets ( https://amzn.to/2SzNBTn ) . Need a bucket lid tool ( https://amzn.to/2Rto94X ) to open every time. IT is pretty easy to open with the tool, maybe easier to open than the Gamma lids, however you need the tool to open it.  For long term food storage I would use the food grade bucket lids which are air tight and extremely strong.  Closing the snap on lids require a mallet or the lid tool to hammer seal the lids.



I heard many different reviews about Flex Seal and how effective it is some are positive and some are not as positive.  Overall its basically rubber spray.

Air Fryer Fun+Tasty #04: Crunchy Fried Burritos!!!

So Costco had the the Gourmia Digital Air Fryer 6 QTfor $69!!! There are other 6 quart air fryers onsale online: https://amzn.to/2UfyOig .  My girlfriend and I started cooking with the air fryer.

Today we tried making Crunchy Fried Burritos !   We got our frozen isle burritos from our local supermarket for $3 for 8 burritos! They sell them on Amazon too ( https://amzn.to/2QSC98N ) if you want then delivered.

Last time we made:  

Japanese White Sweet Potato Fries: https://wp.me/p9dbox-Gn 
Citrus Pepper Fried Chicken: https://wp.me/p9dbox-Gf 
Chinese Donuts:  https://wp.me/p9dbox-Gb

You will need the following along with your 6 Qt Air Fryer:
– Frozen Burritos at your local supermarket
or online ( https://amzn.to/2QSC98N )
– Canola oil ( https://amzn.to/2LzIi3O )
– Misto Olive Oil Sprayer ( https://amzn.to/2BKbZuo ) or brush
– Silicone Kitchen Tongs ( https://amzn.to/2BIpz1z )
– Sharp Kitchen Knives: ( https://amzn.to/2BHo3g2 )

Quick Instructions:

-Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees.
– Take frozen burritos out of the bag.
– Spray or brush Canola oil onto each side of the burritos.
– Put frozen burritos on the air fryer crisper pan.
– Cook at 400 degrees for 5 minutes
– Flip when done
– Cook at 400 degrees for another 5 minutes.
– Take out and be careful its super hot on the inside!
– Serve on plate and enjoy!
– Clean air fryer with dish soap and sponge. Rinse and dry.

It was simple to prepare fast food that works great with an air fryer.  Perfect for small families or snacking. No hot oil splatters or burns from cooking in a pan or wok.  Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more Air Fryer Fun + Tasty episodes.

Air Fryer Fun+Tasty #03: Japanese Sweet Potato Fries!

So Costco had the the Gourmia Digital Air Fryer 6 QTfor $69!!! There are other 6 quart air fryers onsale online: https://amzn.to/2UfyOig .  My girlfriend and I started cooking with the air fryer.  Today we tried making white Japanese Sweet Potato Fries!   We using Japanese Sweet potatoes because they are sweet, denser,  and less watery.  And they came out crispy on the outside and warm moist on the inside.

Last time we made:  
Citrus Pepper Fried Chicken: https://wp.me/p9dbox-Gf

You will need the following along with your 6 Qt Air Fryer:
– Canola oil ( https://amzn.to/2LzIi3O )
Optional – Misto Olive Oil Sprayer ( https://amzn.to/2BKbZuo )
– Japanese Sweet Potato ( Sold at local Asian Supermarkets )
– Sea Salt / Pepper ( https://amzn.to/2BHogQm )
– Corn Starch ( https://amzn.to/2GH05Y0 )
– Large Mixing Bowl ( https://amzn.to/2GHFink )
– Silicone Kitchen Tongs ( https://amzn.to/2BIpz1z )
– Sharp Kitchen Knives: ( https://amzn.to/2BHo3g2 )
or Mandolin V- Slicer ( https://amzn.to/2BIMdGZ )

Quick Instructions:

-Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees.
-Cut the Japanese sweet potatoes into 2 inch fries
– Mix cut fries with Canola oil
– Lightly toss fries with salt , pepper , Corn Starch
– Layer the fries on the crisper tray in the air fryer for about 1 inch with space for air circulation.
– Cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes
– Shake when done
– Cook at 400 degrees for another 5 minutes.
– Shake when done
– Cook at 400 degrees for another 4 minutes.

Take out into clean mixing bowl and add seasoning if needed.  Mix seasoning.

Serve on plate.  Offer ketchup or other condiments.

Eat!

Clean air fryer with dish soap and sponge. Rinse and dry.
