This is how i make my fancy trail mix when  before i go on a hike or long travel trip.  I go to Costco and get their Extra Fancy Unsalted Mixed Nuts  ($17) (  its more pricier at Amazon, but its more convenient –  https://amzn.to/2rEv5xY ) and a Pantry sized M & M’s ($10)  ( https://amzn.to/2jU9u02 )  and mix the two in an empty container.  Pretty simple. You can also add raisins  ( https://amzn.to/2KkwPn1 ) or other dried fruit ( https://amzn.to/2KZ1dnV )  or even Peanut M &M’s  ( https://amzn.to/2wzvu9V ). Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial!

In any case, i try not to damage the original seal for the container so it can act as a gasket to keep the lid sealed.   Its cheaper to buy the ingredients from Costco or a food wholesaler if you eat a lot of trail mix.
