I helped my land lord replace a broken 10 year old window ac unit only to get another one. If you want to get air conditioner and you either rent or have a small room to cool down a portable or a window based air conditioner is the simple solution.

I later helped him putting the AC unit into the wall and took about 8 hours to complete. Window air conditioner is relatively simple:Just unpack and mount. My Land lord wanted to embed and mount it to a wall, which required the to be to be framed. I will save that footage for another video. Dont do the wall mount at home.

Portable Air Conditioner:
Floor unit with wheels and about 12,000 BTU. Easy to install.
PROS:

  • its very simple and easy to setup took me about 15 minutes to setup
  • Its on wheels so you can have it in other room or for storage.
  • They are relatively quiet and refined.
  • Can work on vertical or horizontal windows.
  • May have heating and dehumidfying abilities for year round use.

CONS:

  • You need an window to exhaust out the hot air
  • You need an power outlet close to the window
  • It takes up floor space
  • Pricier than window units

Window Air Conditioners:
The window air conditioner took about 30 min to hour to place on the window and mount the hanging screw and side panels. The hard part is prepping and cleaning the window prior to mounting it.
PROS:

  • Pretty simple to setup – secures to the window.
  • Saves floor space. Some people install them onto the wall to save even more space
  • Lower cost than a portable or a larger home install.
  • Lasts for years… my last window a/c unit lasted 8-10 years before the fan went out.

CONS:

  • Need to have a vertical opening window
  • Sticks out the window
  • For off season, may need to remove and store.

Comparing Toshiba with the Danby, the front design of the Toshiba looks better, however cost is 100 dollars more. Overall both perform well and could share the same remote IR control.

There are other 7 cubic foot chest freezers online ( https://amzn.to/2EjN45Z ) and smaller sizes such as 3.3 cubic feet chest freezers ( https://amzn.to/3f2MztA ) for smaller spaces.

The Midea 7.0 comes with 2 freezer baskets ( https://amzn.to/3hwMDDJ ) for organization. While the Danby 7.2 comes with one and a wire divider wall. The Danby 14.5 comes with two freezer baskets. All three freezers has defroster drainage and thermostat is located in the front of the freezer.

Chest freezers are very energy efficient in keeping lots of cold. Its good for food storage especially after fishing or a large Costco run of frozen food. The size is perfect for the garage or man cave.

The Danby 14.5 cubic foot freezer is very large at roughly 60 inches wide, 29 inches deep, and 32 inches tall. The defroster is manual. Thermostat and drainage is in the front of the chest. I has an LED lamp in the freezer. This is something for a business or garage to keep a lot of food cold.
