ROCKPALS 60 Watt Folding Solar Panel ( https://amzn.to/3nJZoRa ) Jackery Explorer 240 – Power Station ( https://amzn.to/3DVeKHW )

My Jackery Explorer 240 – Power Station ( https://amzn.to/3DVeKHW ) is light and compact to bring with you during camping or off the grid. Its convenient and has AC outlet, USB ports for fast charging, and a 12 volt socket . Charging takes about 5-7hours depending of method. With the included AC or 12 volt car charger it charges at 62 Watts and is fully charged in about 5 hours. I wanted to charge it while camping using solar so i bought a ROCKPALS 60 Watt Folding Solar Panel ( https://amzn.to/3nJZoRa ).

According to Jackery’s manual it can only charge at about 60 Watts max, so buying a 60 Watt portable solar panel seemed like a great idea. Generally the more solar panel wattage the larger your panels will be depending on how its packaged. I wanted something light and compact and had a max charge of 60 watts so i dont damage my Jackery Explorer 240.

The ROCKPALS 60 Watt Folding Solar Panel ( https://amzn.to/3nJZoRa ) works fine on the Jackery 240. I got about 30-40 watts in full sun which was expected as the the manual says it would take about 7 hours to charge using a 60W solar panel.

I generally follow the sun during camping. Moving the panel from my car’s windshield, to the car roof, then to the rear window and trunk, while camping and get a good 4-5 hours of charging in. There are eye holes to hang or tie down the panel as well. I have the Jackery Power stateion ( https://amzn.to/3DVeKHW ) in my car when charging and just have the wire go into my door weather strip.

Pros:

  • Compatible with other power stations
  • Compact folded size
  • Good / expected charging speed for solar.
  • Thick cables.
  • Three USB charging ports – well positioned in the storage area.

    Cons:
  • Slightly heavier than other folding solar panels due to wiring and packaging.
  • May need a chair or car to act as a stand to follow the sun.
  • Folds out at 4 feet or so, not as convenient as simple 2 fold panels.

Overall its a good performer and gets the job done. Makes for a good gi I would have wanted a solar panel kit that produces closer to the 60W output, however that would mean getting a larger 100 W solar panel for the future.

i love to my air fryer for tatter tots and small meals and snacks, however I needed a larger oven to bake and cook above 400 degrees. I got a Oster Air Fryer Counter Top Toaster Convection oven (
https://amzn.to/3F0m858 ) for that reason.

It has a large capacity and I can fit two frozen pizzas to cook at once. This was my primary need. It cooked them in about 20 minutes and had the higher temperature and fan to cook it fast. Otherwise I would have broken the pizza into halves to fit it in my air fryer.

I still prefer cooking messy items like chicken legs or tatter tots in the air fryer bucket. However for cookies, baking, and cooking larger amounts of food for the family the Oster Air Fryer Counter Top Toaster Convection oven (
https://amzn.to/3F0m858 ) is a better size and has more options.

REVIEW: Avid Power 6 inch Dual Action Polisher

I have been hand polishing and waxing my cars for years. I just bought a Avid Power 6 inch Dual Action Polisher ( https://amzn.to/3EfWFnR ) and love it!

Why I bought it. I like to detail , clay, compound, polish, and wax my cars. Doing one call will easily take me all day by hand. But with a DA polisher it cuts the time to a few hours.

Using a Dual Action buffer has the following advantages:
○ save time
○ consistent technique
○ random polish

Its also a good size for 90% of my car surface at a 6 -7 inch size. I have a 10 inch polisher which is good and 3-4 inch is too small. I also have those size pads if needed.

I only polish and wax about 3 times a year, in Fall (to put a layer of wax before the rain and wet weather and spring before the hot summer driving.. But since I do multiple cars at the same I wanted to invest in a good buffer. I did both my cars in about a little over half a day versus 2 days.

I always use Clay ( https://amzn.to/3nWdAFs )to remove stuck brake dust and particles , Compound ( https://amzn.to/3nRSbNY – if needed) Polish ( https://amzn.to/3nMhSPG )for shine, and wax ( https://amzn.to/3BE17er ) . I keep the foam pads with my liquid compound polish or wax. I recently started using ceramic spray wax ( https://amzn.to/3BFoq7Y ) over Carnuba car wax as its much easier to apply and buff and holds for about 6-7 months.

The 7 inch pads were just about right for most of the panels. For smaller details of my bumper roof pillars – I either did it by hand in linear motions or with a 3 inch foam pad and an speed drill attachment for the curvy small nooks. I used the pads for both cars and they held up. After ward washed them with hot water and dish soap, let them dry out before storing them. I typically use pads for about two seasons so these will last me

Overall the DA buffer polisher ( https://amzn.to/3EfWFnR ) works well and saved me a lot of time ( pretty much 50 % of my time compared to doing it by hand. ) it is just the right size pads I needed for my cars and offers a terrific value compared to compounding, polishing, and waxing by hand.
