Costco! LOREX 4k Ultra HD NVR Wired Security System 8 Cameras! $799!!!

Costco has the  LOREX 4k Ultra HD NVR Wired Security System ( https://amzn.to/2Kp8uhy  ) with 8 channels and 8 cameras for 799! I bought the 4k NVR 8 channel 6 camera version only a few months ago for $699. I like that fact that its wired by network cable instead of batteries or analogue audio video cables.  It makes the install easier with one wire pull. It comes with 8 cameras with motion sensor, light controls, night lighting, and has good video picture quality in 4k, even thought for my 6 camera system i installed earlier i only use 1080p.   Each camera has a microphone and speaker phone so  you can listen or talk through the camera from your smart phone app. I really like the motion detection and lighting. I use that in addition to my porch and security lighting.

DIY: Removing Rubber Odor from Spare Tire , Rubber Mats, or Rubber Stuff!

I have a 2018 Honda Clarity and 2017 Chevy Volt which I bought spare tires for. I hate the rubber odor from the compact tires, as i have the tires surface mounted in my trunk. I tried a few methods to lower or remove the smell from the trunk. See steps taken below or on the video.

Steps I took to remove the rubber smell from my car:

  1. Use baking soda ( https://amzn.to/32VPorO ) to absorb order in trunk.
  2. Vacuum trunk after using baking soda
  3. Wash rubber tire / mat with dish washing liquid ( https://amzn.to/2ye0WbJ ) and rinse
  4. Soak rubber tire / mat with white vinegar ( https://amzn.to/2Mh0GAZ) . Solution Mixture 1 cup per gallon of water . I used my shower stall, by plugging the drain, and pouring about 5 gallons of the solution in to the stall. I soaked each side of the tire in the stall solution for about 3-4 hours on each side.
  5. Wash off and rinse the vinegar with dish washing liquid and rinse.
  6. Place the tire in sunlight area for 1 day. Expose the other side for a 1 day in the sun.
  7. DONE. Replace the rubber tire or mat back into the trunk.

CLEANING DIY: HOW TO REMOVE OLD STICKY RUBBER with TOOTHPASTE!!!

CLEANING DIY: REMOVING STICKY RUBBER from old rubber or plastic.

So you have old rubber or plastic that has become sticky and gummy. I had an old ON GUARD (OG) bike cable lock i got years ago ( https://amzn.to/2JOhyxh ) with rubber parts starting to break down and got sticky. I made a quick video on how to remove old sticky rubber from rubber parts and plastic. All you need is TOOTHPASTE!!! Any cheap too paste will do ( https://amzn.to/2y7pD9x ) and a terry cloth or box of shop rags ( https://amzn.to/2SAtQfr ) you plan to use get dirty or throw away later. I used a whitening toothpaste from my bathroom and an old terry rag.

You want to put the toothpaste on the sticky rubber. Massage and coat the sticky parts. Then use a DRY terry cloth rag to rub and polish the toothpaste and sticky rubber off. This will remove 70%-80% of the stickiness. Put a second coat on, and use another side of the terry cloth and rub the toothpaste and sticky rubber off again. After the second pass, the plastic should clean. Do a third pass if you like.

Then rinse off with water and test the stickiness. It should be clean and polished with the toothpaste. Most of the gummy rubber will transfer to the rag with the toothpaste.
Wash and reuse the rag, or clean more sticky items before disposing of the rag.

DONE! Simple, and no harsh chemicals!
