Going the Distance: My LifeStraw for Hikes and Camping Trips

For longer hikes and camping trips, the amount of water you have to carry can really weigh you down. I used to pack a heavy hydration bladder even for a few-hour trek. At less than 2 ounces (46 g), it’s effortless to pack and gives me the freedom to carry just some water and have the LifeStraw as an additional resource for water. Water Bottle Backup: My LifeStraw on the Local Trails

Living here near Los Angeles, we’ve got some decent hiking spots within a short drive. Used to be, I’d load up a heavy hydration bladder even for a quick few-hour trek. One time on a 9 hour hike I got lost and ran out of water. The real beauty of this LifeStraw on the trail is the weight and space savings. It can freeing up room in my pack for snacks and other essentials. When I come across a clean running water source and if i am out of bottled water, I just use the LifeStraw in, and drink straight from it like a straw. It’s that simple.

The peace of mind knowing it removes 99.99% of Waterborne Bacteria (Including E. Coli and Salmonella), and 99.99% of Waterborne Parasites (Including Giardia and Cryptosporidium) is huge.
