FLAT FOLDING N95 Respirator – 3M AURA 1870+ Surgical Mask – UNBOX / REVIEW

I bought a box of flat folding N95 – 3M AURA 1870+ Surgical Masks one to two years ago from a medical supply company to carry with me as a emergency situations and for my bug out bag. I never opened them as I never had a need to. I am doing an unboxing to see if the rubber band straps are still good and to see how it folds.

I typically use a disposable N95 filter masks ( https://amzn.to/2Qh1Hu3 ) for DIY projects around the house and paint art projects. So medical surgical masks like this flat folding mask is only saved for bug out bag and emergency preparedness situations. These masks are also not as durable for DIY projects and are hard to buy due to the special nature of these masks. I would stick to the standard N95 or P95 filters based on DIY project needs.

The mask folds out to cover the face. There is a nose bridge wire and foam on the top of the nose. Like the other paper N95 masks, it does not have a rubberized face seal. Nor does it have a exhaust port valve for exhaled air flow. Its good for emergencies and for health care personal applications. I like the flat form factor but that’s the only thing going for it. I would stick to the standard N95 or P95 filters based on DIY project needs.

I made a video previously of all the different masks I use for DIY projects as well as P100 mask review.

PM 2.5 Pollution Dust Filter VS. N95 filter – REVIEW UNBOXING

I bought two PM 2.5 Pollution Dust Filters with a valve and made a unboxing video. It cost about $5 to10 ( https://amzn.to/2xy8hWj ), but I have seen this used when i was traveling 2 years ago with traveling to Beijing China due to the dust and pollution. This is the first time seeing one in person to unbox!

I would use this for allergy , dust, or pollution mask, but not for wood working or DIY projects as its not rated for N95 or paint or anything. It is very light weight and will get dirty during DIY painting or wood work. I believe this is more fashionable for urban environments as they come in a variety of colors.

Its washable but you need to remove the plastic valve. I noticed that the valve replaceable filters are single use and have adhesive to attach. I dont like this design and plan to modify it if i do use as a pollution mask. Stay tuned for that video.

I made a video previously of all the different masks I use for DIY projects:

as well as P100 mask review

. Soon i will review the 3m Aura 1870+ so stay tuned.

When exploring Gardena California we visited Tokyo Centre & Main ( a Japanese grocery store with lots of snacks and treats. They had isles of toys. One toy and candy that popped out was a Honda NSX History – gum and toy. It has one of eight random Honda NSXs in the package along with gum. You can buy a similar Tomica model online: https://amzn.to/2IZdR6R . However we bought it for fun. Again it was $11 versus just buying a 1/24 models online: https://amzn.to/38WPW2s . Enjoy the video and unboxing and review!
