We got this modern aluminum wall mounted cat scratch post ( https://amzn.to/3zURpVE ) as it was modern looking and we wanted more floor space. We could have bought more floor S – shaped scratcher ( https://amzn.to/3gQIhIN ) made of sisal fiber rather then cardboard, however wanted better use of floor space. We have 1 -2 scratch posts or pads on each floor of the house, to prevent the cats from scratching the furniture.

The best part of this simple aluminum cat scratch post is the ease of assembly and mounting. You can also rotate the scratching post distribute the wear and tear .

We got a SmartCat Ultimate Cat Scratch Post ( https://amzn.to/3d0itsC ) about 4+ years ago for our cats. Its a 32 inch post with 16×16 inch base. We got it so our cats done scratch our furniture. Its good if you dont want to mount anything to the wall.

My neighbor with the same post had it wear through the upper portion f the post in about 2 years. He just took the post off the base and remounted it it upside down so the cats could scratch the unused area for another few months before a new sisal scratch material needs to be replaced.

Overall its a very sturdy cat post thats a modern twist to the tradition wood and beige color scheme.

REVIEW: SmartCat Ultimate Cat Scratch Post – 4 Years Later…

Even though its been 4 years, our cats have multiple scratching posts and pads around the house. Some mounted on the wall ( https://amzn.to/3zURpVE ), and floor S – shaped scratcher ( https://amzn.to/3gQIhIN ) made of sisal fiber rather then cardboard. So SmartCat Ultimate Cat Scratch Post ( https://amzn.to/3d0itsC ) only gets
a fraction of use and is part of their daily scratch routine.

My neighbor with the same post had it wear through the upper portion f the post in about 2 years. He just took the post off the base and remounted it it upside down so the cats could scratch the unused area for another few months before a new sisal scratch material needs to be replaced.

Overall its a very sturdy cat post with a tall post and wide base so cats will jump off it with no problem.
