I wanted to get a my mom a good quality pocketable budget point and shoot digital camera so she can use it when she travels. I bought her a Sony Cyber Shot DSC-W800 ( https://amzn.to/3tfXFV0 ) about 2 years ago and she loved it.

The menus and controls are simple to use, with an EASY mode that is easy to read and use. The DSC-W800 ( https://amzn.to/3tfXFV0 ) is so small fits in the palm of my hand. The amazing thing is that produces good quality 20 megapixel photo and 720 P video that she can later download and post. The now 2 year old battery can shoot about 100-150 photos, when new it was more like 170+ photos making it great for a backup vacation camera to your cell phone.

The 5 x zoom lens goes wide and long for group shots and for detail shots when vacationing. It also has a macro mode for getting really close. There is a standard 1/4 tripod mount. For low light, it has a orange focus assist light and DRO (dynamic range optimization?) to brighten up dark tones and shadows for better photos. It has an ISO 3200, but any ISO setting after 1600 is grainy.

Overall the DSC-W800 ( https://amzn.to/3tfXFV0 ) is an ultra compact 20 MP digital budget (under $100) consumer camera for most family travel, home, and vacation photos. It has good image quality for the every day casual family photos or office documentation.

2017 Chevy Volt Vlog #65- Glove Box Pin Issue

My chevy volt has 44,000 Miles – 22 Months – This month my Glove box pin fell out. I had to take apart the glove box to push the bin back in. Not hard but just another annoy quality or design problem with my 44,000 mile 2017 Chevy Volt.  Oh well. Here is the link to the video Glove box DIY ( https://youtu.be/-cEPjkHVRYM )and the DIY to the air filter charge glove box removal. (https://wp.me/p9dbox-47)

Chevy Volt Vlog #64: 44,000 Miles – 22 Months – Follow up and Spring!

Chevy Volt Vlog #64: 44,000 Miles – 22 Months – Follow up and Spring! So in the last Chevy Volt Vlog #63   “Cant Shift to PARK” i got the Transmission Control Module  fixed for about $400 with a rental.  Chevy / GM took a week or so to look into the issue and concluded that it was not covered under the 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, offered me $100 coupon in for the next time I go in for dealer service.

Hmm… thanks for the offer but, seeing that my oil changes are every 20,000 miles, it may expire before i need to use it.  Unless they are expecting another part to fail on my 2017 Chevy Volt.  I may just use it for an 4 wheel ailment (normally it costs about $80 or so at my tire shop), unless they charge more than $125 i will consider it.   Still this whole issue has had me question such an awesome car to have issues with foundation items makes me worried.

Moving on… Its spring time and i traveled to see the blooming wild flowers of California and the great coast! I love it here in California, however with the high cost of housing and living expenses that the negative side of such a great place to live.  I had some very good roasted strawberry icecream at Salt and Straw (https://saltandstraw.com/)  It was pricey but once every 1-2 months is good for the soul.

Spring cleaning!  Glad i got the large hatch back of the Chevy Volt. I was able to donate 40% most of my clothes i either cant fit in or could benefit others. folding down the seats i got 4 bags of clothes to the donate to charity.  Love my cargo capacity.

Lastly, this month my Glove box pin fell out. I had to take apart the glove box to push the bin back in. Not hard but just another annoy quality or design problem with my 44,000 mile 2017 Chevy Volt.  Oh well. Well that’s it for this month, its almost 2 years of owner ship and i may get new tires for my Volt next month if Costco has a tire deal.  Can’t wait!  See you next time!
