Does a Dahon Speed D7 folding bike fit in a 2016-17 Chevy Volt?

I just got the 2017 Chevy Volt and needed to fit my two 2008 Dahon D7 folding bikes into the Chevy Volt with a spare tire. This video goes over a few situations with the Dahon folding bikes and Chevy Volt, with the seats up, seats down, and tire on its side. They sell the current year Dahon Mariner D7: https://amzn.to/2wP5Qvx Btw, my Youtube vlogs and reviews may also have associated affiliate links to products that may earn from qualifying purchases.

Weighing at about 23 lbs its one of the lightest folding bikes produced. I have owned this bike new since 2008, and it has been my primary bike when i travel or for leisure riding. It was very affordable compared to a custom brompton or bike friday and provided a lot of value for the cost.

Dahon 2008 Mariner D7 Handlepost Hinge (wiggle) Adjustment

I have own my 2008 Dahon Mariner D7 since 2008. They sell the current year Dahon Mariner D7: https://amzn.to/2wP5Qvx ) . I bought it new and rode it everywhere! The Handlepost Hinge requires adjustment to from time to time as the adjustment screws get loose, eventually there is a slight play or wiggle while biking. Sooo…as i was saying, there you need some Allen wrenches and a needle nose pliers to make slight adjustments to the two plate screws and the pushing adjustment bolt and nylon. Basically the plate is spring loaded and these screws are not suppose to be tight, but are movement guides for the plate height. The Nut with the nylon end guides how the plate pushes when the lever is moved. too much tightening and the plate will not close. too little and the plate is loose making the handle post wiggle. It took me about 10 adjustments so the lever is firmly sets the plate in place with a firm lock, So you need to experiment. If its still loose, i suggest bringing into a bicycle repair shop.

Enjoy! I have fun working on my bike and making some videos for fun!
