My Go-To Power Source for Everything: The Jackery Explorer 300 – Review

Alright, you all know I’m obsessed with gear that makes life easier and more fun, especially when I’m on the move. Well, years ago I got the Jackery Explorer 240 in 2021 and put many miles and trips on it. I like the compact size and it fits my needs. So, I now got a Jackery Explorer 300 and its a improvement! I’ve been putting the Jackery Explorer 300 through its paces, and let me tell you, this thing is an absolute game-changer. Whether I’m working from the park, camping out, or just need some extra juice in the backyard, this portable power station has become my new best friend.

First off, the biggest win for me is how fast the Jackery Explorer 300 gets back in the game. I can get it from near-empty to an 80% charge in just two hours. That’s it. Two hours! I just plug it into the wall and use the 60W PD USB-C port at the same time, and boom, it’s ready to go. You can also just use the standard AC adapter, which is super convenient. No more waiting around all day for a battery to charge.

But what can the Jackery Explorer 300 do? The heart of this beast is a 293Wh lithium-ion battery pack. For all its power, it’s shockingly light, weighing in at only about 7 pounds. I can carry it one-handed without even thinking about it. It has two Pure Sine Wave AC outlets that deliver a steady, safe 300W of power. This is huge for me. I’m not just charging my phone here; I’m running fans to stay cool, powering a second monitor for my laptop, and yes, even firing up my video game console Xbox One when I want to unwind outdoors. It handles it all without breaking a sweat.

The port situation on the Jackery Explorer 300 is just fantastic. It’s got all the bases covered. There’s that PD 60W USB-C port which is a two-way street—I can use it to charge the station itself or to fast-charge my laptop. Then you’ve got a Quick Charge 3.0 port, another standard USB-A port, and even a DC car port. The best part? I can use them all at the same time. I’ve literally had my laptop, camera battery, tablet, a USB-powered insect repellant, and my phone all plugged in and charging simultaneously. It’s the ultimate hub for all my gadgets.

And for those of you who love being completely off-grid, this is where it gets really cool. the Jackery Explorer 300 is fully compatible with Jackery 100watt Solar Saga solar panels. I use older generic 100 watt solar panels with a 8 mm adaptor. Thanks to the built-in MPPT controller, it maximizes the power from the sun, so it recharges the battery way faster than you’d expect. It turns the Explorer 300 into a full-on solar generator. This makes it perfect for multi-day camping trips, long road trips, or if you’re working remotely out of your car for a while.

Honestly, the Jackery Explorer 300 has blown me away with its combination of portability, power, and versatility. It’s become an essential piece of my kit for both work and play. If you’re looking for a reliable, easy-to-use power station that can keep up with your adventurous life, you’ve got to check this one out. It’s a solid investment you won’t regret.

My 2nd Toshiba inverter Microwave

I just had to come on and share my latest kitchen upgrade. My trusty old microwave finally met its match, and I’ve replaced it with a brand-new Toshiba microwave model. I’m genuinely excited about this, and I wanted to walk you through my first impressions.

My previous microwave was a 1250-watt black model, and it served me well. But the new one is a 1350-watt Toshiba microwave beauty in a sleek stainless steel finish. Aesthetically, it’s a huge win! It perfectly matches the rest of my kitchen appliances, giving the whole space a more cohesive and polished look. Plus, I’m finding the stainless steel is much easier to wipe down and keep clean compared to the darker finish of my old one. Both are a very large 1.6 cubic feet, which is fantastic for fitting bigger dishes.

But let’s talk about performance. While the cooking power is similar, the smart features on this new Toshiba microwave are what really make it shine. The “sensor” buttons for things like popcorn and reheating are an absolute game-changer. I’ve already tested the reheat function on a bowl of leftovers; I just popped it in, hit the button, and the microwave automatically calculated the perfect time—5 minutes and 1 second, to be exact! It takes all the guesswork out of it, so you’re not left with food that’s either frozen in the middle or blasted into oblivion. The automatic defrost is another one of those brilliant features that just makes life easier.

So, what’s the final verdict? I’m thrilled with this upgrade. It looks fantastic and the smart cooking functions are incredibly practical for everyday use. And the best part? My old microwave isn’t going to waste. It still works perfectly fine, so I’m passing it along to my parents who are in need of a new one. It’s a win-win!

If you’re in the market for a new Toshiba microwave that’s big, powerful, and smart, I can definitely recommend checking out this new model from Toshiba.

Happy cooking! -Sterling W.

REVIEW: NEW Travel Bag for my SINGER Heavy Duty Sewing Machine! It has TIE DOWN STRAPS!

Hello, my fellow DIYers and crafters! Sterling W. here, and today I’m diving into something that solves a problem many of us have: how do you safely store and transport a heavy-duty sewing machine without a hassle? I saw a fantastic video review of an accessory bag designed specifically for the Singer Heavy Duty series, and I have to say, I’m impressed. The reviewer was checking it out as a gift for his mom, which I think is just a great idea.

Let’s get into the details of what makes this bag a potential game-changer for sewing on the go.

Built Tough for a Tough Machine

The first big question was whether a soft-shell bag could really handle the weight of a machine with a heavy metal chassis like the Singer 4423 sewing machine. The verdict? Absolutely. The bag is made of a sturdy, reinforced nylon and features a clever reinforced bottom with velcro. This means it won’t sag or collapse under the machine’s weight, keeping your investment stable and secure.

Speaking of security, one of the best features is the set of internal nylon straps with quick-release buckles. You can lock your machine in place so it won’t slide around during transport. What a simple but brilliant idea!

Storage, Storage, and More Storage!

If you’re anything like me, you know that you can never have enough pockets and compartments. This bag delivers in a big way. The reviewer highlighted:

  • Tons of Pockets: It has side pockets for your foot pedal, a front organizer for all your small notions (even a key ring!), and another compartment on the side.
  • Lid Organizer: The inside of the top lid has three zippered compartments, perfect for keeping things tidy and easy to find.
  • Travel-Friendly Design: It even has a sleeve on the back that lets you slide it over the handle of your roller luggage. How smart is that for traveling to classes or retreats?
  • Bonus Dust Cover: As if all that wasn’t enough, it also comes with a separate dust cover for your machine.

A Few Things to Note

No review is complete without an honest look at the little details. The shoulder and handle straps are made of pleather, not genuine leather, which might affect their long-term durability. Also, the zippers were a little stiff out of the box, but that’s nothing a little wax can’t fix.

The Verdict

Honestly, this bag looks like a fantastic solution for anyone with a heavy-duty sewing machine. It’s thoughtfully designed, packed with useful features, and strong enough to do the job right. The reviewer concluded that it looks great and will make an excellent gift, and I have to agree. If you want to protect your machine and make it easier to take with you, this bag is definitely worth a look.

Happy crafting! -Sterling W.
