MAONO AU-100R – REVIEW | $25 Rechargeable Condenser Lavaliere Microphone

For $25, this rechargeable condenser lavaliere microphone provide warm voical tones and good recording clarity and volume for the beginning vlogger, youtuber, or podcaster. The 3.5 TRRS audio connector can connect directly to your smart phone for audio recording. The recording mode can also be changed to output to DSLR, camcorder, and laptop input sources. The rechargeable battery is not serviceable but has been listed to last 90 hours per charge. There is a color LED indicator for battery state and charging state.

On my video, I tested the recording of the Maono AU-100R compared to my Samsung S8 smart phone stereo microphones. The voice tone was warmer and fuller. The recording was clear and higher volume than the built in microphones as well as standard cell phone headsets.

I also tested the AU-100R for recording issues while being charged through the micro USB port. While there was no noticeable interference charging from both battery power banks , laptop supplied power, and A/C wall supplied USB hubs, I would charge the battery to full prior to a recording.

Last test was with the Insta360 ONE R action camera ( https://amzn.to/3k5ISWV ) with Microphone adapter ( https://amzn.to/32kQE9v ). The Maono AU-100R was seen on the Insta360 One R, however the none of the audio signal was recorded. I believe it was the Insta360 One R mic adapter or firmware that needs to be updated.

Overall, for $25 its a terrific value for the beginner vlogger or youtuber who needs a lapel microphone to capture clean analogue audio to their smart phone, camcorder, DSLR camera, or laptop computer with audo inputs. I comes with all the microphone and all the needed accessories to get started with a smart phone. However for those who are podcaster who need to record and stream directly to computers, they will need a USB adapter or USB microphone dedicated for the task.

Costco Full Synthetic Motor Oil – 6 Pack – 1 Quart Bottles (2.49 /qt) $14.99

Costco now has Full Synthetic Motor Oil sold in a 6 Pack box of 1 quart bottles for $14.99 . It’s pretty much $2.49 /qt. Thats cheaper than Walmart Supertech and Mobil 1. Even Amazon has full synthetic motor oil : https://amzn.to/2Pkr0dc . This is more convenient if buying the 5 quart jug is not enough oil for your truck, or for smaller car and SUV engines that need a only 3.5 quarts. It is also easier to store and handle than a 5 quart jug.

There are so many new full synthetic motor oils on the market with smaller hybrid and turbo engines. I like that there are more competition from different brands. For me I am not brand specific. I remember paying $30- $35 for 5 quarts. 10 years later, Pennzoil, Valvoline, Castrol, Walmart SuperTech and now Costco Kirkland Signature has a Full synthetic 5w-30 motor oil selling for about $12 – $38 dollars! You can even buy it online https://amzn.to/2IC0Opk . What oil do you use, and have you used the other FULL SYNTHETIC brands or do you still use Conventional motor oil?
