CCV#70 – DIY 2016-2018 Chevy Volt In-cabin Air filter Change in 8 MINUTES!

Its been over a year and I noticed my in cabin air filter needed to get changed. I got my AC Delco carbon in cabin air filter online: ( https://amzn.to/2XRS3PM ) for about $13. BTW: My Youtube vlogs may also have associated affiliate links to products that may earn from qualifying purchases.

Since this is my 3rd time changing my incabin air filter for my 2017 Chevy Volt, I can now dow it in under 8 minutes. You need the new filter ( https://amzn.to/2XRS3PM ) and 7 MM socket and a REALLY LONG socket screwdriver 7+ inches to make the job easier. The 5 hex bolts are easier to install and remove with the longer stem.

I have given my 2017 Chevy Volt to my retired parents who love it. They drive about 15 miles a day so it’s convenient for them to just charge it every day instead of using gas at $4 a gallon in California. It’s funny how they label and lock everything. See the video its kinda cute.

I will continue to maintain and vlog about the 2017 Chevy Volt in the future and will post it to my two Chevy Volt play lists:

I have bought a 2018 Honda Clarity and will make more videos on the 2018 Honda Clarity and her travels as well:

2017 Chevy Volt Vlog 56: DIY in-cabin air filter service

After 16 months and 30k miles, I usually change out my car incabin HVAC filter every 12 months after Fall. As you can see in the photos its quite dirty after 1 year. Per GM manual this is usually scheduled to be changed out every 20k miles or as needed.Btw, my Youtube vlogs and reviews may also have associated affiliate links to products that may earn from qualifying purchases.

I got this Wix Carbon filter for about $15 or a Fram carbon filter one for about $24. It helps in filtering all the external air from dust and pollen over the 1-2 years you have this filter in. You will need to change it out sooner but living in LA, theres plenty of dust, smog, and brake dust that gets caught in the airfilter so it is just cheap insurance for our lungs when commuting… hope this helps!

For defogging and lower humidity, I heard that some people use crystal silica cat litter ( https://amzn.to/2NPZaUw ) in a socks under their seat vents to defog or dehumidify their interior.

2017 Chevy Volt Vlog #55: DIY Engine Air Filter Service

Ok its 30k miles on my 2017 Chevy Volt and i wanted to check my engine air filter (ACDelco A3217C Air Filter: http://amzn.to/2g6Szcq) . On the gas engine i have put about 15k miles. According to the manual, the engine air filter is replaced under normal or severe conditions at 45k miles. Mine had very LITTLE wear and dirt. I think it will last much longer for Volt drivers who dont use their engine to commute.
