From Box to Bike Path: Setting Up My isinwheel U5 Pro for Adventure

Getting a new bike is always exciting, but sometimes the assembly process can be a daunting task. With the isinwheel U5 Pro Folding Electric Bike, I was genuinely delighted by how straightforward the setup was. It literally took about 40 minutes out of the shipping box until I was ready for my first exhilarating ride, and the fact that it comes with all the tools needed was an absolute lifesaver – no frantic searching for wrenches!

I started by unboxing everything and carefully cutting away the numerous zip ties that secured the U5 Pro‘s components. The major parts that needed attention were surprisingly few and logical. First, I securely bolted on the heavy-duty rack to the rear of the bike, which felt sturdy and well-integrated. Then came the front wheel, which easily slotted into the forks and secured firmly with quick-release levers.

Next, I attached the U5 Pro‘s stylish metal fenders, which not only look fantastic but were easy to align and secure into place. The super convenient folding pedals just screwed directly into the cranks, and I gave them a final hand-tightening. After that, installing the handlebars and the seat post was a breeze, as they easily adjusted for height with quick-release clamps, allowing me to find my perfect ergonomic riding position.

Following the U5 Pro‘s instructions, I performed minor adjustments to the brakes and rotors alignment. This involved a little fine-tuning with the included Allen wrenches to ensure the brake pads weren’t rubbing and that the levers felt responsive and offered precise stopping power. It’s a standard, crucial step for any bike assembly, and the clear guidance made it simple enough for me to handle. The bike also thoughtfully comes with an air hand air pump! I used it to inflate the 2.5 inch wide tires to their recommended 35 psi, immediately appreciating their impressive width and robust look once fully inflated.

My first ride was absolutely fantastic. The U5 Pro‘s display is clear, big, and easy to read, making it easy to monitor my speed and battery life. The front and rear lights (with the rear light activating when braking!) provided excellent visibility. I smoothly tested both throttle only without pedaling and pedal assist modes. It was truly an overall very comfortable ride, proving that the 40 minutes of initial setup were well worth the immediate reward of effortless and exhilarating cycling.

The first step was to bolt on the heavy-duty rack to the rear, which was simple with the included hex keys. Then came the two metal fenders, front wheel, which easily slotted into the forks and secured with bolts. I appreciated that these bigger parts were the main focus, not dozens of tiny screws.

Next, I attached the isinwheel U5 ‘s metal fenders, which not only look fantastic but were easy to align and secure. JETSON BOLT PRO – REAR RACK & STUFF – INSTALLED

JETSON BOLT PRO – I got my Jetson Bolt Pro for $299 from Costco and love it. It’s time to start accessorizing this bike to be more useful. In this video I install a rear bicycle rack ( https://amzn.to/30KgJ0W ) for more storage and cargo options. I also added a strap on water bottle cage, as this bike does not have frame mounts for a bottle cage and a cellphone mount. In my prior video i installed folding pedals ( https://amzn.to/2CfeoBM ) for easier storage.

Adding the rear rack to the Jetson Bolt Pro allows me to carry more cargo during my rides. Whether we are going to get lunch or to the market for groceries. It also prevents rear splashes from puddles. I am using my 10+ year old rear padded bike trunk that mounts on with Velcro. There are other similar bicycle trunk bags online (https://amzn.to/2DB5hfv ). I also plan to mount a crate to hold larger times such as lunch and drinks.

The Bell rear rack ( https://amzn.to/30KgJ0W )mounts to the rear seat post and can hold up to 20-45 lbs of weight. It comes with struts that mount to the frame, however i will not be able to use them as my bike tubes are too wide. I will keep less than 20lbs on this rack. I like how it is adjustable and that it comes with bungie tie down cords. I typically just using it to holding my bicycle locks ( https://amzn.to/33OWMI9) and stuff.

For the bicycle water bottle cage ( https://amzn.to/2XRb07v ) its a simple $10 strap on one similar to the one I have on my Vilano Atom electric bike. As for cell phone holder ( https://amzn.to/2PFSQ4m ) i got the same generic plastic silicone holder i used for a few years.
