EASY DIY: How to Clean Tea & Coffee Stains off Stainless Steel Carafe / Travel Mugs!

Cleaning tea and coffee stains off stainless steel is easy.
So a I got a heavily tea and coffee stained 2 liter carafe from my coworker.  These carafes cost about $30 – $50 online : https://amzn.to/2sfl7TG . They rinsed and washed it but  the build up of tea is high and did not want it any more. I heard you can clean tea stains with denture cleaners tablets or baking soda. So I went to a discount dollar store and paid $1 for a 20 pack of denture cleaners – it was so inexpensive i figure it was fun to experiment. They also sell denture cleaner tablets online ( https://amzn.to/2SAuyZq ) , but it was way too expensive to experiment .  I already had baking soda in my fridge.

Quick disclaimer: This for entertainment only.  You should follow your container makers directions of how to clean your container.  You use this video and instructions on your own risk.

I first cleaned the carafe of old tea leaves and debris. There may be debris stuck in the top valve and spout.  Take off the gaskets and clean with dish washing liquid.  Wash and rinse the entire container.

I added HOT tap water into the carafe. According to the temperature gauge it reached 100 degrees.  I placed 3 tablets into the dark tea stained carafe and replaced the carafe cap to retain heat.   I let it clean overnight for 12 hours..  I also put two denture cleaners into a cup of dirty pennies to see if it would clean those too.

Alternatively, you can also use 4+ tablespoons of Baking Soda ( https://amzn.to/2CT8GTo )  to clean tea and coffee stains. It works well with clothes and will work will work with cleaning tea and coffee stains too.  The basic nature of the baking soda will soften the stains and debris.  It will probably take about 12 hours as well.

The next day, the carafe and the pennies were really clean!  The carafe water was luke warm and had floating tea and coffee stains in the water.  Inside the carafe was overall clean but still needed some scrubbing with a kitchen bottle brush or scrub and dish soap. I also scrubbed the gaskets and top seals an cap threads.  It looked as good as new!  Super clean!   I hope this DIY helps.  See you next time!  Thanks for dropping by!

DIY: Making your oil filter – FILTER MORE! with magnets!

After changing my oil, I add high powered magnets on my oil filter.
Using small high powered magnets ( https://amzn.to/2MHMHRp ) I can probably trap ferrous metallic engine dust in on my car’s oil filter, so every time I change my oil filter it will also remove any ferrous slit or dust. Its like those devices that would see on those commercial on TV or you can think of it similar to those drain plug magnets they sell at the auto parts store…except you have much more surface area. . Not sure how effective this is but it simple and not permanent and it only costs about $5-10 in neodymium magnets ( https://amzn.to/2MHMHRp ) .

This is for video is for  entertainment, do so at your own risk or bring it to an auto repair shop . Thanks for watching.
