Costco has Dried Atlantic Sea Cucumbers for $44.99 a pound. I bought a bag to try out. There are similar dried sea cucumbers sold online: https://amzn.to/2S2G8xt . The cost vary from $50 to $100 a pound. Really expensive dried seafood.
I only tried this in Chinese seafood restaurants and seen frozen and dried versions in Chinese and Asian Supermarkets. In the video you can see the dried sea cucumbers are about 2.5 to 3 inches in length dehydrated. After soaking it for a few days we will compare the size. At $45 a pound I want to try this out at home.
How to cook Dried Sea Cucumber.
The instructions to cook this is was simple enough as follows:
Soak for 3-4 days in cold water in the refrigeration.
Replace the water every day.
Cook in boiling water for 30 minutes until soft.
So I am going to try it and do a review of the process and flavor in a few days. So stay tuned.

My girlfriend and I started cooking with the Gourmia Digital Air Fryer 6 QT we got from Costco. There are other 6 quart air fryers onsale online: https://amzn.to/2UfyOig .
Today we tried making Chinese restaurant style Cantonese Salt and Pepper Pork! We got our half pound of pork from our local super market. They sell them on Amazon too ( https://amzn.to/2CHy1zz ) if you want then delivered.
Beat 1 egg white with .25 tsp sea salt, .25 tsp white pepper, and .25 tsp of Chinese five spice powder.
Marinate pork in the ege white mixture for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Drain excess liquid.
Mix in 2 tbsp of corn stark into the pork and then add 2 tbsp of canola oil.
Pre-Heat Air Fryer to 370 degrees.
Spray air fryer tray with canola oil.
Cook for 4 minutes at 370 degrees Flip pork chop pieces and cook for another 4 minutes.
Flip. Cook for 400 degrees for 3 minutes.
Flip. and cook for another 3 minutes until brown.
While Cooking at the last 3 minutes, heat the wok or pan with 2 tbsp of canola oil. Add .25 cup of diced white onion, 2 tbsp of minced garlic, and 2 tbsp chopped green onion. Add slices of Jalapenos if you want spicy heat.
Toss in hot oil for about 1 minute. Turn off stove, and add cooked pork chop. Sprinkle .25 tsp of sea salt and .25 tsp of five spice powder.
Toss until coated. It is okay to leave excess oil on the wok.
– Serve on plate and enjoy! – Clean air fryer with dish soap and sponge. Rinse and dry.
It was simple to prepare fast food that works great with an air fryer. Perfect for small families or snacking. No hot oil splatters or burns from cooking in a pan or wok. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more Air Fryer Fun + Tasty episodes.
