HOW TO FIX: Android Auto NOT CONNECTING to My 2018+ HONDA – AFTER APP UPDATES…

Its been a two weeks since I updated my Android Auto app for my Samsung Note S20 Ultra ( https://amzn.to/3Dgd1fI ) and Samsung S20 FE ( https://amzn.to/3AfHPvk ) smart phones and my 2018 Honda Clarity Honda Head Unit can not connect via USB to the phones for Android Auto I found a fix for it.

I have been using the same high quality USB C cable that came with the Samsung as well as a longer braided JSAUX USB C Cable ( https://amzn.to/2ZO58ji ) for over 3 years with not problems connecting my Samsung Note S20 Ultra ( https://amzn.to/3Dgd1fI ) and Samsung S20 FE ( https://amzn.to/3AfHPvk ) smart phones to.

After the latest Android Auto update, my Honda head unit connected for a less than a minute before disconnecting. I tried clearing the app cache, reinstalling the app, and rebooting the smart phone. I also rebooted the Honda Head unit. My Samsung S20 FE connected after the reboot, however my Note 20 did not.

All the settings on the phone were the same. When checking the Honda infotainment head unit settings. I noticed that both phone profiles were on the head unit, however the Samsung S20 FE was ENABLED and the Samsung Note S 20 Ultra was DISABLED. I enabled the unit and then saw the phone.

For good measure, I DELETED the Note 20 Profile to completely clear the entry and reinstalled the phone to head unit and ALWAYS Allow Android auto permissions for the Samsung Note 20.

It has been working for the past few days. The Honda head unit still drops Bluetooth connection every so often. I believe the Honda Head Unit may need a software update.

Overall, I am glad am I am able to use Android Auto again with my 2018 Honda Clarity, as i miss using the Maps and Google Assistant features. I also miss playing video games on my Honda while parking.

Trying out 3 Steering Wheel Covers on my Honda! Review ($15-$20)

Steering Wheel Cover Review ($15-$20) – I bought 3 steering wheel covers for my 2018 Honda Clarity and Accord in different styles ( https://amzn.to/2EyDJ7Q ) to try out. Of all my Honda’s I found that the Clarity’s steering wheel was harder and colder during my morning drives. I was wearing gloves to void touching the cold steering wheel. So I decided to go shopping for a good steering wheel cover that was soft and insulated me from the cold. My Youtube vlogs may also have associated affiliate links to products that may earn from qualifying purchases.

I first bought a $12 Walmart Auto Drive Steering wheel cover for 14-15 inch steering, however while it looked good, it was too big for my Honda steering wheel. It had extras space on the sides of the wheel and was not snug.
The other two universal 15 inche wheel covers were off of Amazon. SEG Direct microfiber leather steering wheel cover ( https://amzn.to/2EzN3sc ) which was very popular $16 with a lot of reviews and a textured surface. SHIAWASENA Steering wheel cover $16
( https://amzn.to/2XsIEP6 ) which had a smooth surface and patterned with red stitching.

Both of these steering wheel covers did not feel like real leather, even though the description said “genuine leather” . Both installation of these covers were a little more difficult than the one purchased at Walmart. Tight fitting and no slip, they did not have any gap after the install. The only gripe is the packaging crease on the covers. With the bend shipping, the creases showed on the material. More so on the SEG brand with multiple bends in packaging. For my 2018 Honda Clarity, both 15 inch covers fit perfectly. Only time will tell whether the material will be durable in the sun and car heat. I kept the SHIAWASENA one on my Clarity and may return the SEG cover as I wanted a smooth feel.

Chevy Volt Vlog #58 – 36,000 MILE UPDATE

hey guys it’s been about several months since I made a Chevy Volt vlog update. overall the car has been great no major issues it’s been thirty-six thousand miles and over one and a half years of ownership. other than the coolant levels being a bit low. oil has been normal. the tires may need to be replaced probably in about 6 months or so the transmission Drive Unit seems to be a little dirty. the door makes low a noise after they replaced a door panel but it’s okay.
