If you want to record really clean audio you need to eliminate background noise and sound reflection in the room you are recording you voice in. For me I used a closet and placed my microphone in my shirts. The shirts absorbed any noise from the room and from the reflecting walls.

I borrowed some  Acoustic Panels Studio Foam from my brother who bought it at Amazon ( http://amzn.to/2yLU0QZ about $40). It worked well compared to my shirts but at 2 inches, I still needed to add dampening to be back of the closet. Eventually i just bought a 4 inch deep egg crate bed topper twin size to totally absorb the sound for $30!!! It basically covers the wall I need for sound recording.  The bottom line is that you need a quiet room and a way to absorb sound.
