REVIEW: Avid Power 6 inch Dual Action Polisher

I have been hand polishing and waxing my cars for years. I just bought a Avid Power 6 inch Dual Action Polisher ( https://amzn.to/3EfWFnR ) and love it!

Why I bought it. I like to detail , clay, compound, polish, and wax my cars. Doing one call will easily take me all day by hand. But with a DA polisher it cuts the time to a few hours.

Using a Dual Action buffer on my cars will
○ save time
○ consistent technique
○ random polish
Its a good size for 90% of my car surface at a 6 -7 inch size. I have a 10 inch polisher which is good and 3-4 inch is too small. I also have those size pads if needed.

I only polish and wax about 3 times a year, in Fall (to put a layer of wax before the rain and wet weather and spring before the hot summer driving.. But since I do multiple cars at the same I wanted to invest in a good buffer. I did both my cars in about a little over half a day versus 2 days.

I always use Clay ( https://amzn.to/3nWdAFs )to remove stuck brake dust and particles , Compound ( https://amzn.to/3nRSbNY – if needed) Polish ( https://amzn.to/3nMhSPG )for shine, and wax ( https://amzn.to/3BE17er ) . I keep the foam pads with my liquid compound polish or wax. I recently started using ceramic spray wax ( https://amzn.to/3BFoq7Y ) over Carnuba car wax as its much easier to apply and buff and holds for about 6-7 months

  • For the unboxing, this Avid Power 6 inch Dual Action Polisher kit ( https://amzn.to/3EfWFnR ) comes with the variable speed buffer, 6 in disk with velcro backing, allen wrench for the handle, Spanner for the disk tightening, 3x 7 inch foam pads ( yellow hardest for compounding, orange for polishing, and black for finishing ) and a pretty long power cord about 9 ft.

The 7 inch pads were just about right for most of the panels. For smaller details of my bumper roof pillars – I either did it by hand in linear motions or with a 3 inch foam pad and an speed drill attachment for the curvy small nooks. I used the pads for both cars and they held up. After ward washed them with hot water and dish soap, let them dry out before storing them. I typically use pads for about two seasons so these will last me

Overall the Avid Power 6 inch Dual Action Polisher kit works well and saved me a lot of time ( pretty much 50 % of my time compared to doing it by hand. ) it is just the right size pads I needed for my cars and offers a terrific value compared to compounding, polishing, and waxing by hand.

REVIEW: BESTEK 500W Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter

I am using a Bestek Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter ( https://amzn.to/4gmD8qb ) to power my Xbox One S ( https://amzn.to/3hzEktc )and monitor in my car. It provides a continuous DC 12V to AC 110V power from the car’s 12 volt socket power. This should provide stable power to both devices.

It is very convenient and easy to use. It comes with extra fuses, 12 volt car socket plug wire ( 150 W) , and an alligator battery clamps (up to 500 W) . All you need to do is screw on the wires and with the nuts and turn on the unit. The cooling fan noise is ok. The fan has been keeping the unit cool even during an hour of use.

With socket cable, 150 watt is the max rating. It came with direct connects to the car 12 volt battery for full 500 watt power. I normally use a compact 150 W power inverter ( https://amzn.to/3kc25cp ) while working in my car with a laptop, however decided to get a Pure Sine Wave inverter as the Xbox is not battery powered like a laptop. There is fan noise from the inverter operation, but overall it runs pretty cool with both devices on.

Overall I see this device very useful when powering sensitive AC powered electronics in the car. I normally play for about 30 -1.5 hours while the car is ON and charging. I have to be mindful if the car is charging the 12 volt battery and down want to drain it.

REVIEW: Zeppoli Classic Kitchen Towels – WATER TEST!

I recently got a set of the Zeppoli Classic Kitchen Towels because I was on the hunt for kitchen towels that were soft, durable, and wouldn’t scratch my dishes or pans. I also wanted something that would dry quickly and wouldn’t leave lint all over the place.

Right off the bat, I noticed how absorbent these Zeppoli towels are. It’s probably because of that herringbone design. I went with the white with blue stripes, and I think they look pretty classy in my kitchen. They’re also a good size – 14 by 25 inches. They’re big enough that I could even use them as placemats if I wanted to! I’m even thinking about cutting some of them down to make smaller towelettes or dish cloths.

The herringbone weave seems really well-stitched and sewn, and it’s great that I can just toss them in the washing machine and dryer. I tested out how much water one of the towels could soak up, and I was impressed. Plus, they don’t take up a lot of space, and they didn’t shrink at all after I washed them. I’m also happy knowing that by using these, I’ll be saving money on paper towels in the long run.
