REVIEW: Avid Power 6 inch Dual Action Polisher

I have been hand polishing and waxing my cars for years. I just bought a Avid Power 6 inch Dual Action Polisher ( https://amzn.to/3EfWFnR ) and love it!

Why I bought it. I like to detail , clay, compound, polish, and wax my cars. Doing one call will easily take me all day by hand. But with a DA polisher it cuts the time to a few hours.

Using a Dual Action buffer has the following advantages:
○ save time
○ consistent technique
○ random polish

Its also a good size for 90% of my car surface at a 6 -7 inch size. I have a 10 inch polisher which is good and 3-4 inch is too small. I also have those size pads if needed.

I only polish and wax about 3 times a year, in Fall (to put a layer of wax before the rain and wet weather and spring before the hot summer driving.. But since I do multiple cars at the same I wanted to invest in a good buffer. I did both my cars in about a little over half a day versus 2 days.

I always use Clay ( https://amzn.to/3nWdAFs )to remove stuck brake dust and particles , Compound ( https://amzn.to/3nRSbNY – if needed) Polish ( https://amzn.to/3nMhSPG )for shine, and wax ( https://amzn.to/3BE17er ) . I keep the foam pads with my liquid compound polish or wax. I recently started using ceramic spray wax ( https://amzn.to/3BFoq7Y ) over Carnuba car wax as its much easier to apply and buff and holds for about 6-7 months.

The 7 inch pads were just about right for most of the panels. For smaller details of my bumper roof pillars – I either did it by hand in linear motions or with a 3 inch foam pad and an speed drill attachment for the curvy small nooks. I used the pads for both cars and they held up. After ward washed them with hot water and dish soap, let them dry out before storing them. I typically use pads for about two seasons so these will last me

Overall the DA buffer polisher ( https://amzn.to/3EfWFnR ) works well and saved me a lot of time ( pretty much 50 % of my time compared to doing it by hand. ) it is just the right size pads I needed for my cars and offers a terrific value compared to compounding, polishing, and waxing by hand.

In northern California I saw a black painted Massimo MB200 Mini Bike and in southern California they had red ones. Either way it looked like the perfect gift for people who loves hobby mini motor bikes.

From the information sheet attached to the bike, the 196CC engine uses E10 gasoline and holds about .95 gallons. The gas tank on the top is fake and is a storage compartment. It has a rear drum brake. It also has a large comfortable seat.

The max speed on this bike is 24 mph (per info sheet). and has big knobby tires for off road paths. It also has fenders and lights, which is a nice touch.

REVIEW: Kevlar Arm Protection Sleeves w/ Thumb Hole – FIT & CUT TEST!

I got a lot of cuts when working in the garden and when in the garage. I bought Kevlar Arm Protection Sleeves with Thumb Hole ( https://amzn.to/2ZjIu23 ) to test the fit and cut durability to review.

So Kevlar Arm Protection Sleeves with Thumb Hole ( https://amzn.to/2ZjIu23 ) I bought were dark gray. The red skull logo was only on one of the sleeves. There are NO labels sewn on the sleeves indicating what the material was used. I am not sure if it really was Kevlar fiber. There are no care instructions either. Like other clothing and stuff I buy I love following care instructions. This one didnt have it so I am skeptical of the performance.

When new the fit very tight. They need to be washed a few times to loosen them. The knit on the yarn is like a sweater, so it breathes well after the knit loosens up. The new yarn and knit is slightly itch as it is a bit course.

Kevlar Arm Protection Sleeves with Thumb Hole ( https://amzn.to/2ZjIu23 ) are pretty durable. The knit will NOT STOP a sharp object from going in between the knit. A tip of a pen can easily stretch in-between the knit. That means a cat claws or rose bush thorns will also easily poke through the sleeve. For my test I used a sharp utility knife tip and it poked through it.

The protection sleeve and fiber is durable against sharp cuts and abrasion. I slashed the sharp utility knife against the sleeve several times and it held up. So while working on the garden it would offer some protection from cuts.
Will it stop a large knife slash, I am not sure I really dont want to test it and ruin my new work and gardening sleeves.

Overall, I would use this when working on the car or around sheet metal, while biking, around the garden, or when handling large dogs which light to jump on against my arm. It will protect my arm from general cuts and adds warmth while working in cold environments.
