VINGLI Mid-Century Modern 71 inch sofa ( https://amzn.to/3XIQ3c7 ) was ONLY $229 and took about $49 to ship direct. I came in 3 days in a single large box! The other other mid-century modern sofas online: https://amzn.to/3DmoLQD ranged from $300 – $1500 of different qualities. Some full wood, but this one was metal frame with wood arms so it was quality were it counted. (haha) I was not expecting much but at that cost, i was either going to buy a futon sofa or shop for a used sofa on social media. I dont like owning used furniture that has fabric due to possible bugs and stuff and prefer new material for sofas and beds.
I chose the VINGLI Mid-Century Modern 71 inch sofa ( https://amzn.to/3XIQ3c7 ) because it had good value: spring base for the seating, coil springs for the seating cushions, higher seat height knee support , and the design was classic and clean. All similar sofas and futons were foam cushions and didnt look like it would last. I am not expecting much from this $200 sofa, but i was surprised at the springs and coils they were firm and solid. The fabric was nice too. The Arms and legs were wood. The frame and back were metal. All the cushions were vacuum packaged and became right sized within a few hours.
Assembly was easy. Mid-Century Modern 71 inch sofa ( https://amzn.to/3XIQ3c7 ) took me about 40 minutes to put together with the included tool. All the bolts were hand tightened. When assembled it looks and feels AWESOME! The main negative to the sofa was the play from the base spring board to the chassis. It just sits on the four slots. It shifts and feels hollow and It would have been sturdier with bolts securing it to the base. I solved this problem by using towels to shove inbetween the gaps and into the slots. The sofa was very sturdy afterward and felt solid! Now if felt like a $600 sofa!
Overall this was my first sofa in a box i assembled myself. It was also my first non-IKEA sofa i bought that feels great and was more affordable than Ikea’s offerings. I love this budge sofa that turned out great!
