REVIEW: $30 Digital TPMS – 6 Month Review | Energizer CR 1632 batteries

Six months after installing the $30 Digital Tire Pressure Monitoring System ( https://amzn.to/2ncBVf6 ) on my Honda Clarity and Accord, two of the sensors started to have errors. I found out two batteries that came with the set was low so i replaced them with Energizer CR1632 ( https://amzn.to/3gpfo4q ). Hopefully we will find out how long these batteries last on teh TPMS sensors. Btw, my Youtube vlogs and reviews may also have associated affiliate links to products that may earn from qualifying purchases.

My new 2018 Honda Clarity and 2007 Honda Accord does not have a TPMS system that tells tire pressure and temperature of the tires. My 2007 Accord simply didnt have TPMS . My 2018 Honda Clarity on checks tire rotation to determine if the diameter is smaller to indicate over or under inflation of the tires. I loved my Chevy Volt which has individual meters for each tire. Individual guage allowed me to monitor status and if I had a air leak. Good for finding a tire leak before a flat tire.

The kit is solar powered with a battery and a USB input for 5 volt power. This makes it convenient to be wire free when i put it on my dash. In order to keep the unit from flying off my dash board, I added Scotch double sided tape ( https://amzn.to/2pCOvFr ) on the bottom of the TPMS unit and added anti-slip shelving mat foam ( https://amzn.to/2nULpfs ) . You could have just used a cell phone anti-slip mat ( https://amzn.to/2n7sZre ) .

I charged the kit in a USB charger for 2 hours before installing kit. The kit was already calibrated for all four tires of the car: Front Right, Front Left, Rear Right, Rear Left. You just need add the locking nut onto the tire nipple, then add the sensor to the corresponding tire location. Use the provided mini spanner / wrench to tighten the nuts against the TPMS sensor. You are able to set the high and low pressure alarm and units settings such as PSI vs BAR or F vs C. In a few minutes the main controller receives tire data from the individual tires.

I tested the tire pressure against my digital tire pressure gauge (https://amzn.to/2naQQGH ) and fount it accurate.
