DIY – How to Lower Room Noise while Working from Home.

Whether you are recording a narration or youtubing, or just trying to lower the room noise. This is how I started making my room more sound proof so i can get some silence. Working from home has all the noise from my roommates or from outdoors traffic. I either have to record a night or sound proof my room. Full parts list below. Btw, my Youtube vlogs and reviews may also have associated affiliate links to products that may earn from qualifying purchases.

Here is a parts list of the stuff I used in this video:
Black Out, Thermal Insulation ,Sound Insulation Curtains: https://amzn.to/39cWWIy

Acoustic Foam Panel Wedge Studio Soundproofing Wall Tiles: https://amzn.to/2UGsdhV

Convoluted Foam Bed Pad Mattress Topper 4 INCH: https://amzn.to/2xgRRS6

Coroplast sheets 24 x 36: https://amzn.to/2UckYyQ

Hot Glue Gun Full Size: https://amzn.to/3aeMUrM

3M Command Picture Hanging Strips: https://amzn.to/33BCVKq

Velcro: https://amzn.to/39cx67x

Microfiber towels: https://amzn.to/399Ther

H1N Zoom Audio Recorder / Microphone:
https://amzn.to/3deRcB8

H1N Deadcat Furry outdoor windshield: https://amzn.to/33Fe600

I started adding blackout sound insulation curtains ( https://amzn.to/39cWWIy ) and book shelves to increase wall space and density. I then added 4 inch Convoluted foam ( https://amzn.to/2xgRRS6 ) to absorb the sound from both sides of the thin interior doors and walls. This lowered much of the noise and talking from the adjacent room.

I could have used professional Acoustic foam panels ( https://amzn.to/2UGsdhV ) but those the cost was higher than to cut a foam mattress topper. I also wanted it to be on boards so i can remove them if necessary to use on the table or another room. 3M Command stripes( https://amzn.to/33BCVKq) are safer for temporary mounting without leaving adhesive residue. Using Velcro or spray adhesive will leave adhesive.

Instructions:

  1. Cut the Convoluted Foam Bed Pad Mattress Topper into 24 inches to match the Coroplast boards. 2. Use the hot glue gun to adhere the foam to the plastic boards.
  2. Follow the 3M Command Picture hanging strips instructions.
  3. Use alcohol and microfiber to clean the board and the wall or door you plan to attach to.
  4. Add the adhesive strips on the frame and mount to door or wall.
  5. Add blackout and sound isolation curtains to further deaden the sound in the room.

Flashlight REVIEW – ROVYVON Aurora A23 ($49) and A3 ($29) SUPER Bright LED flashlight – UNBOXING

I just bought two new EDC keychain flash lights made by RovyVon ( https://amzn.to/33lFyzM ). The first one is the RovyVon Aura A23 about $49 ( https://amzn.to/38WnkpQ ) which is less than 3 inches and outputs 1000 lumens of light from powerful Cree LED.

The second one is the tiny RovyVon A3 about $29( https://amzn.to/2U8J3W7 ). Btw, my Youtube vlogs and reviews may also have associated affiliate links to products that may earn from qualifying purchases.

The best features of the two RovyVon A23 and A3 lights: USB charging, Extreme brightness using CREE LED, extremely light weight and extreme compact size. Both lights come with clips. We removed them as we didnt need it.

We added a key chain and ring so it can be clipped with a a set of keys. The only improvement feature is to standardize on USB C charge port so i can use any of my smart phone cables. We solved it by getting a USB C port adapter (https://amzn.to/2TT68gI ) for about $3 or so.

Why switch to rechargeable USB?

Similar to the XiaoMi 1000 Lumen LED flashlight ( https://amzn.to/2D1FBVj ) i reviewed earlier, I wanted to make a move to have all my devices and flashlights go towards a USB rechargeable platform. Its so that i can carry one primary power supply or wall charger and not have to worry about battery form factor. For example: if my 5.11 LED EDC pen light ( https://amzn.to/2TSyojx ) which i carry runs out of power, I will need a new AAA alkaline dry cell to replace it. If my RovyVon A23 flash light runs out of power, i just need to plug it into my 26,800 power bank ( https://amzn.to/38SMh5B ) to still have continuous light. Great for camping and emergency preparedness.
