Portable External Travel Monitors ( https://amzn.to/3oPRlmI )

I travel and work remotely almost every day. I have 3 different external monitors ready for my laptop, smart phone, and Xbox, depending on location of work. These are all 1080P IPS Full HD external monitors with USB C and HDMI inputs and work with Windows, iOS, and Android USBC devices and my Xbox game console.

They have have stands and a protective cover. They are all very light weight and are powered by USB C external power 5 volts (under 3A) and can be powered by an external power bank. I do not like having a battery built into the screen as batteries don’t travel well on with air travel, and the lifespan of the rechargeable batteries are limited.

I use my NIUTO to Portable Touch Monitor 14 inch ( https://amzn.to/3mETz5U ) if I need touch screen. This is my primary monitor when traveling and using Samsung DEX on my Samsung Note 20 Ultra ( https://amzn.to/3Dq7xPK ). There is a USB C and USB A port for connecting a use hub for to make this my portable work station from a powerful smart phone. This follows me with my backpack.

I use my Kogoda 13.3 Inch External Monitor ( https://amzn.to/3iLEpuA ) primarily in my car while working on my laptop or playing Xbox or Nintendo switch on the road. It does not have touchscreen, however the small size, bright screen, and durable 1080P screen is all I need. This either stays in the car on a iPad holder or tucked away under the car seat or trunk storage.

I use my 15 inch large 15.6″ IPS HDR 1920X1080 FHD ( https://amzn.to/3Duzgic ) when I travel with my for video editing or with my large 17 inch gaming laptop. It adds lots of desk real estate and matches the size of my larger laptop for extended work sessions. Normally this travels with the laptop in a large roller suit case luggage.

Overall all three of these external monitors are very useful for my daily commute or a road trip in the car and have their purpose.

How to PLAY VIDEO GAMES while PARKING – Setting up my XBOX in my backseat!

Quick how to video on setting up your XBOX or other game console to play in your car. This is great if you spend a lot of time in your car waiting for your next class, working in your car, or just charging your plug in electric vehicle.

This can be setup in less than 5 minutes to start playing and is easily taken down when not in use. I only use this while parked for over 1 – 2 hours while my car is ON and charging. I have a Honda Clarity Plugin with a huge back seat .

A few weeks ago I added 13 inch 1080P monitor ( https://amzn.to/3kakZAG) with USB C and HDMI inputs so I can work and watch movies on my dash. It works with the Xbox, Smart phone , and laptop computers. I had it on my dashboard, but I wanted it in a more comfortable viewing position than the center console so I decided to mount the monitor back of the passenger seat so it will be in front of me when in the rear seats.

I am using an adjustable large tablet articulating arm ( https://amzn.to/3hsutFm ) attaches to the passenger seat head rest posts so I can position the monitor right behind the seat or near the center of the spacious back seat to share with friends. The tilt of the monitor arm is adjustable as well.

To power my Xbox One S ( https://amzn.to/3hzEktc )and monitor, I am using a Bestek Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter ( https://amzn.to/3lf37DW ) DC 12V to AC 110V to plug into the car’s 12 volt power. This should provide stable power to both devices. With socket cable, 150 watt is the max rating. It came with direct connects to the car 12 volt battery for full 500 watt power.

I normally use a compact 150 W power inverter ( https://amzn.to/3kc25cp ) while working in my car with a laptop, however decided to get a Pure Sign Wave inverter as the Xbox is not battery powered like a laptop. There is fan noise from the inverter operation, but overall it runs pretty cool with both devices on.

If by myself in the back seat I don’t mind the Xbox and Inverter in the opposite foot well. If I have company, I may decide to put the Xbox and inverter in the front seat foot well.

Overall I see this as a fun project. It’s not a permanent addition to the car and is quick to setup and take down when you are finished. I normally play for about 30 -1.5 hours while the car is ON and charging. I have to be mindful if the car is charging the 12 volt battery and down want to drain it.

REVIEW: Phone Clamp Tripod Mount w/ Bluetooth Remote

I wanted to get a light weight plastic cell phone tripod mount with Bluetooth remote ( https://amzn.to/2WUYjee ) This is made of PLASTIC but is quite sturdy. It has a 1/4 inch mount on the bottom bracket and the actual phone clamp. The best part it that its NOT spring loaded, but is a bolt camp so its a lot more secure. I would use this mount for light and medium duty work to hold the cell phone.

I also have several aluminum and metal clamp mounts such as the Ulanzi Metal Tripod mount ( https://amzn.to/2WNT3tz ) and the Ulanzi ST-03 Metal Folding Smart Phone Tripod Mount ( https://amzn.to/3BMQLJZ ) which are better for heavy duty or professional use. I use these when traveling or in studio environment.

The bluetooth remote works well and triggers a VOLUME + which works well for Samsung smart phones and iPhones. You may need to change the settings on your camera app to trigger on Vol + key if not already. I like the ON / OFF switch on the remote and quick pairing. It uses a standard CR 2032 button battery.
