Costco Run: DURACELL POWERBLOCK 500

I was at Costco and found this DURACELL PowerBlock 500. There are other similar sized 500Wh power stations online ( https://amzn.to/3EKdEQL ). This is the first time I seen a Duracell Power Block 500 in a Li-Ion format, as this one compact and only 10.6 lbs in weight. Before the Duracell PowerSource 660 ( https://amzn.to/3k7lZVm ) was sealed lead acid batteries and it was much heavier and larger.

DURACELL PowerBlock 500 also has 110v/500W pure sine inverters with 3 outlets, USB A and C charging and a 12v power out. I got and reviewed a Jackery Explorer 240 – Power Station ( https://amzn.to/3DVeKHW ) in the past with a 240Wh Backup Lithium Battery power station with 110V/200W Pure Sine Wave AC inverter Outlet Solar Generator. This battery allows me to play my Xbox One S console game while traveling for up to 3.5 hours. I expect this Duracell 500 unit should last me about 6 hours or so.
In the video I got images of the stats for comparison and detailing.

I love working on my cars at home, and finally got a cordless Impact Wrench ( https://amzn.to/35zIzlE ) . It saved al loth of time and knuckle pain saver. I did my tire rotations and on two cars and the 4 AH battery still had full charge. Overall its an excellent value.

Bravolu 21V MAX Brushless Power Impact Wrench ( https://amzn.to/35zIzlE )

PROS:
HUGE Time saver for home garage – 310 feasily remove and set lug nuts.
No problem removing stubborn lug nuts
Compact design and lightweight
LED light
Cordless – no need to turn on my air compressor – fast and simple to use.
Good battery life – 8 wheels rotated – metered still had and full charge metered
Reverse drive brake useful stops after loosening lug nuts

CONS
Only one battery 4 AH battery.
Tightening is general at high speed it still needs to be individually torqued to 75 lb, if there was a way to set limit to torque that would be great.

Great tool to have in the garage for people to do their own tire rotations needs a impact gun without the air compressor. Low noise. I will only use to every 3 months for my tire rotations or if It needed to remove a tuff large bolt.

REVIEW: Costco MASSIMO 100 Watt Solar Blanket Folding Solar Panel

I bought a MASSIMO 100 Watt Solar Blanket ( https://amzn.to/3gne2JE ) at Costco for $179 for about 1 month now and it works well with my Jackery Explorer 240 – Power Station ( https://amzn.to/3DVeKHW )
Six months ago I bought a ROCKPALS 60 Watt Folding Solar Panel ( https://amzn.to/3nJZoRa ) which does great job in a smaller package.

Stuff in this Video:
MASSIMO 100 Watt Solar Blanket ( https://amzn.to/3gne2JE )
Jackery Explorer 240 – Power Station ( https://amzn.to/3DVeKHW )

My Jackery Explorer 240 – Power Station ( https://amzn.to/3DVeKHW ) is light and compact to bring with you during camping or off the grid. Its convenient and has AC outlet, USB ports for fast charging, and a 12 volt socket . Charging takes about 5-7hours depending of method. With the included AC or 12 volt car charger it charges at 62 Watts and is fully charged in about 5 hours.

I wanted to charge it while camping using solar so i bought MASSIMO 100 Watt Solar Blanket ( https://amzn.to/3gne2JE ).

According to Jackery’s manual it can only charge at about 60 Watts max, so buying a 60 Watt portable solar panel seemed like a great idea. Generally the more solar panel wattage the larger your panels will be depending on how its packaged. I wanted something light and compact and had a max charge of 60 watts so i dont damage my Jackery Explorer 240.

The MASSIMO 100 Watt Solar Blanket ( https://amzn.to/3gne2JE ) works fine on the Jackery 240. I got about 53- 68 watts in full sun which was expected as the the manual says it would take about 5 to 7 hours to charge using a 60 W solar panel.

I generally follow the sun during camping. Moving the panel from my car’s windshield, to the car roof, then to the rear window and trunk, while camping and get a good 4-5 hours of charging in. There are eye holes to hang or tie down the panel as well. I have the Jackery Power station ( https://amzn.to/3DVeKHW ) in my car when charging and just have the wire go into my door weather strip.

Pros:

  • Compatible with other power stations
  • Compact folded size
  • Good / expected charging speed for solar.
  • Thick cables.
  • Three USB charging ports – well positioned in the storage area.
    Cons:
  • Slightly heavier than other folding solar panels due to wiring and packaging.
  • May need a chair or car to act as a stand to follow the sun.
  • Folds out at 77 inches or so, not as convenient as simple 2 fold panels.

Overall its a good performer and gets the job done. Produces closer to the 60W – 68W output for quickly charging my Jackery Explorer 240. .
