REVIEW: Rii Multimedia Wireless Backlit Keyboard w/ Multitouch Pad – Rii K18 PLUS

I wanted a backlit keyboard with a large track pad to work in a dark room so I got a Rii K18 PLUS LED Backlit Keyboard ( https://amzn.to/3aigXAI). Its a portable rechargeable backlit smaller than size keyboard with very bright 3 color led keys that works with Windows, Android, smart TVs, Xbox , Raspberry Pi with a wireless dongle. It may work with iOS but i didnt try.

I like the compact size of the keyboard so I can take it with me for blogging , note taking, typing while using traveling my Samsung Note20 ( https://amzn.to/3du0Fqr ) using a USB-C to Multiport Adaptor ( https://amzn.to/3eclkOV ). It works with Windows with the wireless dongle. It also also me to sit further from my 17 inch MSI GE75 Gaming laptop (https://amzn.to/3elQQKD) that i use as a video editor . It also worked on my smart TV via the USB port in the back.

Its all plastic construction and lightweight, but the keyboard is good. They placed the button well and have dicrete left mouse button on the left corner. The multitouch pad worked well, however the scroll section was slow to respond. It is perfect for living room, however traveling in a backpack may be too big.
The rechargeable battery lasted about 3 – 4 days after fully charging it.

Overall this is worth while if you need a compact backlit keyboard with track pad to work with your home smart TV, laptop, Rasberry PI, or smart phone with a multiport adaptor, this is very good candidate. Too bad its not Bluetooth. If it can work with Bluetooth or Dongle that would be more useful to bring with me for travel blogging.

I like the compact size of the keyboard so I can take it with me for blogging , note taking, typing while using traveling my Samsung Note20 ( https://amzn.to/3du0Fqr ) and iPad ( https://amzn.to/3gmg8e3 ) tablet. It also works with Windows with Bluetooth, on my keys and key travel. It also also me to sit further from my 17 inch MSI GE75 Gaming laptop ( https://amzn.to/3elQQKD) that i use as a video editor which has Bluetooth built in. For those without Bluetooth you will need a USB blue tooth adaptor ( https://amzn.to/3n0qZvx ) to use this . If your laptop is out of USB ports i find a USB 3.0 Hub ( https://amzn.to/3uQb9q3 ) very convenient.

Its all plastic construction and lightweight, but the keyboard is flimsy to handle. It may be better suited for living room than traveling in a backpack.
The rechargeable battery lasted about 3 – 4 days after fully charging it. According to the manual, it should last 60+ hours if the backlit LED was turned off to save energy.

Overall this is worth while if you need a compact travel backlit keyboard to put in your backpack to work with your smart phone or tablet over bluetooth connection. The case and USB connector is kind of flimsy so you need to be careful when handling. This is very good for the living room keyboard. and overall it is very usable.

REVIEW & DIY : Adding a Heads Up Display (HUD) on my Honda!

I recently bought a ACECAR M-12 ( https://amzn.to/3dLFRcS ) Heads Up Display unit for my Honda. I always wanted a HUD so I dont need to look down at for speed.

Its large numbers is very visible at day and night time. Installing is very easy with either connection to the cars OBD2 port or it can run with GPS mode in which all it needs is a USB power. The unit is plug and play but needs to be configured for metric and English measurements. If connected to the OBD2 it will drain my 12 volt battery, thats why i prefer the USB power so it turns off when my car is off.

Overall it is pretty accurate and is able to read speed, distance, engine temperature, RPM, and other information when connected to the OBD2 port. With the GPS mode you can display direction, speed.

Update on my steering wheel cover and TPMS system. Its been over 2 years with my SHIAWASENA Steering wheel cover $16 ( https://amzn.to/2XsIEP6 ) which had a smooth surface and patterned with red stitching. It still in good condition and has not cracked yet. Tire Pressure Monitor TPMS ( https://amzn.to/2ncBVf6 )still works after 1.5 years . I cost about $30. The sensors need new CR1616 batteries every 6 months but the solar powered main unit works well.
