HOW TO: PRIVACY SCREEN for BALCONY using Faux Ivy Privacy Screens

I got some Faux Ivy privacy screens ( https://amzn.to/3OHSPJP), so I can add some privacy to my balcony as well as hide the ugly white metal rails. With summer here, I wanted to clean up and get my porch and patio ready for guests!

My concrete patio looks grey. I been wanting to make it more green. In addition I wanted to cover up the white metal railings and add more privacy from my neighbors. Another benefit of adding Faux Ivy privacy screens ( https://amzn.to/3OHSPJP) was the added shade from the sun to reduce heat on the patio balcony.

The Faux Ivy privacy screens ( https://amzn.to/3OHSPJP) expanded to 4 x 8 ft panel but can also contract down. The trellis is made of wood sticks and mine had some flowers to make it look different than just green leaves.

I hung my panel with a S hook and then used the provided nylon zip ties to secure it to my railing. I am planning to get another set to place on both sides of the fence to make it denser and so it will cover the railing on both sides.

Overall Faux Ivy privacy screens ( https://amzn.to/3OHSPJP) is a good fast solution to add privacy to the balcony so when I have tea or exercise it its a little more private. I also enjoy the cooling effect from the shade.

HOW TO: Extend Rear Pant Pockets Using a Sewing Machine.

We are going to extend the length of rear pant pockets in this video. New large cell phones no longer fit inside a standard rear pant pocket without sticking out. Womans pant pockets are even smaller! My mom and I will be using my Brother CS7000i Sewing Machine (https://amzn.to/3E7TWfQ ).

Costco has the Weatherproof Vintage Weather-Flex Pants ( https://amzn.to/3QwggqR ) which I loved the fit and stretch. So I bought 5 pairs with a longer length to use the extra length material to extend the rear pockets.

We used about 3 inches to extend 1.5 inches of the rear pocket.
You will need a sewing machine, we use a Brother CS7000i Sewing Machine (https://amzn.to/3E7TWfQ ) for 90% of all our sewing. You will also need a dethreader or thread ripper. Previously we made a How to hem your pants video. I really love my Brother CS7000i Sewing Machine (https://amzn.to/3E7TWfQ ). I use it much more than my Singer 4322 Heavy Duty Sewing Machine ( https://amzn.to/3C8Xjmw ) which we use for heavy materials.

  1. After dethreading inch of the rear pocket, you also need to dethread the hem of the pocket. Be sure to remove all the loose thread.
  2. We measured and cut about 3 inches of material off the leg length
  3. The extension piece was cut to the shape of the pocket to continue the pattern.
  4. We attached the extension onto the rear pocket
  5. We then sewed the the sides and reinforced edge of the pocket.
  6. we finished with heming the pant legs.

Brother CS7000i Sewing Machine (https://amzn.to/3E7TWfQ )
La Canilla Sewing Machine Carrying Case ( https://amzn.to/3dXIWqQ )

Overall I love my new new pants with extended rear pockets, my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra actually confidently fits in the pocket.

REVIEW: Cordless Stick Vacuum $129 – Best Feature: No Trigger for MAX Power!

If your wondering if a generic cordless stick vacuum ( https://amzn.to/3mAJ9EB ) is worth it, then your in luck cuz i just reviewed this one that i have been using for the past 2 weeks. I will do a review and unboxing. It costs about $120-$140 and is a fraction of the cost of a SHARK Cordless PET PLUS Stick Vacuum – ( https://amzn.to/3I8cuix ) i bought a few months ago.

Our Dyson DC07 ( https://amzn.to/3sAQ7vo ) floor vacuum after over 18 years started to fail. So we went to and got a SHARK Cordless PET PLUS Stick Vacuum – ( https://amzn.to/3I8cuix ). We liked the light weight and convenient aspect of a cordless stick vacuum. I gave the Shark to my parents and got this $129 generic cordless stick vacuum ( https://amzn.to/3mAJ9EB )

This does not remotely compare to the high quality Dyson Stick Vacuums V10 or V12 ( https://amzn.to/3aHefHY ). However for a fraction of the price, it works well for the price and provides good value. If you have wood or laminate floors, then this vacuums well, has good suction. The only draw backs is finding a replacement battery or internal HEPA filters parts for this after a year of use.

Here are the pros and cons of this $100 – $140 stick vacuum unit cordless stick vacuum ( https://amzn.to/3mAJ9EB )
PROS:
Lightweight.
easy to handle.
no silly trigger to need to hold.
good suction.
good battery life about 20-30 minutes of medium to high power vacuum.
Simple to maintain and take apart to clean roller and entire vaccum system.
Can be stored vertical and saves space.

CONS:
Not sure were to get a spare 29V battery.
Charge time in 4-5 hours for 20 – 45 minutes of use.
Small waste container capacity.
HEPA filter is washable but replacement if broken may be hard to find.

Overall, the SHARK Cordless PET PLUS Stick Vacuum – ( https://amzn.to/3I8cuix ) is a great vacuum for the small home or apartment. But this generic cordless stick vacuum ( https://amzn.to/3mAJ9EB ) one costs nearly half the price with similar results. You get great accessories for many cleaning situations. The suction is good for a stick vacuum. If you want a larger more powerful vacuums then get a upright.
