According to the packaging, WAATR HydroCap ( https://amzn.to/3yrYBcN ) uses UV-C light to kill 99% of the germs with the UV-C light in the rechargeable cap. For me it brings me peace of mind to zap my drinking water. Especially when traveling to places like the woods or other countries where water safety is a concern.

WAATR HydroCap ( https://amzn.to/3yrYBcN )- Self Cleaning UV-C light emitting water bottle cap
is pretty useful for travel and zapping water with UV C light.
What I liked and disliked about the self cleaning bottle cap:
Likes:

  • Great idea for travelers
  • Great for people who love their HydroFlasks and dont want to buy another water purifier specific bottle.
  • Simple to use.
  • Reminder to drink water timer
  • Self cleaning mode
  • Different levels of water purification.

Dislike:

  • No USB C fast charging – 3 hours to charge initially.
  • Charging cable is proprietary.
  • Need to fill the water bottle completely to activate UV light.

Overall I love my Waatr HydroCap, more for the ability to use UV light to purify my water when I travel to the gym, back woods hike, or to another country. It doesnt add too much more weight and the USB rechargeable battery is convenient.

REVIEW: Costco AUSAB Australian Abalone!!!

I picked up two cans of AUSAB Australian Abalone at Costco for about $30 a can. There are other canned Australian Abalone sold online ( https://amzn.to/3g26bBd ). This can was 15 oz, 7.5 oz drained, and had 8 pieces of Abalone in the can. The abalone was uniform and were about 2 – 2.5 inches in length. The Abalone is ready to eat and cooked.

The Australian Abalone was super tender and soft. Since the abalone is already cooked, I just reheat them with by boiling the can of broth or my soup and pouring or dipping the abalone into the broth for a few seconds. Or I slice them into smaller slivers for faster heating. You don’t want to over cook the abalone otherwise it will be tough.

I usually dont waste the broth in the can and save it for cooking noodles or adding it to sauces.
