REVIEW: Medline Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor for Travel

I recently got the Medline Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor ( https://amzn.to/3reOlOO ) so I can check my blood pressure when traveling. I needed a smaller blood pressure “bp wrist cuff” that was more portable and space saving.

I have been using my Omron blood pressure monitor ( https://amzn.to/2O62xLS ) that uses an arm cuff to measure. Its been working for years but is not convenient to travel with as its takes up too much space. I will keep it at home or when checking my parents or helping others.

The Medline Wrist Blood pressure monitor ( https://amzn.to/3reOlOO ) is very small and convenient using only 2 AAA batteries and straps to my wrist. I am not sure how accurate it is as it sometimes has extreme readings. I noticed I needed to strap it tightly to my wrist for a consistent reading. I typically run the test 3 times for consistency. It does not come with a bag, but I just wrap it in a cloth bag and it fits nicely in my luggage. Overall this is a useful tool however to travel with and is a quarter of the size of the arm unit.

Review: CHIROGUN – Deep Tissue Percussion Muscle Massager

I bought a ChiroGun Deep Tissue Percussion Muscle massager ( https://amzn.to/3o9V0c0 ). I wanted to get a Costco Sharper Image – Deep Tissue Percussion Pro Massager for $99, however it was sold out. There are many similar percussion massagers online: https://amzn.to/2WgegZ5 , however the ChiroGun has a good advertised cordless battery runtime, quiet operation, and 15 different massage heads to choose from.

This ChiroGun deep tissue percussion massager has cordless run time of 6 hours and a charge time of less than 3 hours. It took about an hour to charge out of the box from 60 percent. I used it for about 1 hour and the charge was still at 99 percent. The massager does not work when plugged in to the 24V adapter. The charge adapter has a led that glows red when charging and green when finished. The massager also has a light ring indicator of charge state.

It has 15 attachments included along with 2 massage balls. It seems similar to the really expensive percussion fitness massagers that are hand held costing four times the price. It is meant for after workout deep tissue massage. I found that the round and flat attachments were most useful.

The dense foam ball is great for most applications, however it gets caught on fabric and clothing. So if you don’t want to ruin your girlfriend’s workout clothing or pajamas, you should use the smooth hard plastic attachments. Other benefits to using the hard plastic attachments is easy of cleaning.

I found the narrower the hard plastic attachments the more intense the impact strength was, so use with caution. The funny looking shoulder and trident attachments were difficult to use correctly as there are no instructions on how to use the specialty attachments.

The massager is easy to use and with 30 speed settings, which progressively go faster up to level 30. The percussion motion loosens stiff muscles effectively and should only be used in under 2 minute intervals, especially for beginners as the percussions made me feel a bit of nausea with the abrupt motion. You may want to ease into the use of this massager to see if its right for you.

The massager is more effective when its perpendicular to your muscles. While it can be used on my leg and arms and shoulders, I found it difficult to use on my upper and lower back with out the help of someone applying it onto me. The angle of the handle my have been better if it was at an angle.

Overall its a very useful percussion deep tissue massager for post work out or to loosen stiff muscles. For best results use the foam ball attachment first and get a friend to help massage your hard to reach areas like your back and shoulders.
