Chevy Volt Vlog #64: 44,000 Miles – 22 Months – Follow up and Spring!

Chevy Volt Vlog #64: 44,000 Miles – 22 Months – Follow up and Spring! So in the last Chevy Volt Vlog #63   “Cant Shift to PARK” i got the Transmission Control Module  fixed for about $400 with a rental.  Chevy / GM took a week or so to look into the issue and concluded that it was not covered under the 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, offered me $100 coupon in for the next time I go in for dealer service.

Hmm… thanks for the offer but, seeing that my oil changes are every 20,000 miles, it may expire before i need to use it.  Unless they are expecting another part to fail on my 2017 Chevy Volt.  I may just use it for an 4 wheel ailment (normally it costs about $80 or so at my tire shop), unless they charge more than $125 i will consider it.   Still this whole issue has had me question such an awesome car to have issues with foundation items makes me worried.

Do you have the same issue? if so comment below!

Moving on… Its spring time and i traveled to see the blooming wild flowers of California and the great coast! I love it here in California, however with the high cost of housing and living expenses that the negative side of such a great place to live.  I had some very good roasted strawberry icecream at Salt and Straw (https://saltandstraw.com/)  It was pricey but once every 1-2 months is good for the soul.

Spring cleaning!  Glad i got the large hatch back of the Chevy Volt. I was able to donate 40% most of my clothes i either cant fit in or could benefit others. folding down the seats i got 4 bags of clothes to the donate to charity.  Love my cargo capacity.

Lastly, this month my Glove box pin fell out. I had to take apart the glove box to push the bin back in. Not hard but just another annoy quality or design problem with my 44,000 mile 2017 Chevy Volt.  Oh well. Here is the link to the video Glove box DIY ( https://youtu.be/-cEPjkHVRYM )and the DIY to the air filter charge glove box removal. (https://wp.me/p9dbox-47)

Well that’s it for this month, its almost 2 years of owner ship and i may get new tires for my Volt next month if Costco has a tire deal.  Can’t wait!  See you next time!

How to Clean, Maintain, and Reset an Electric Shaver – Philips Norelco 4500 – Wet or Dry

If you have a Philips Norelco 4500 Aquatec electric shaver ( https://amzn.to/2qMJY0C ), it has a 12 month timer indicator for blade replacement. I usually get about 2 – 3 years from my shaver blades because i clean mine every week.  Btw, my Youtube vlogs and reviews may also have associated affiliate links to products that may earn from qualifying purchases.

I have a spare HQ8 blades and combs  ( https://amzn.to/2vwc4lI ) but still use the originals from the razor.  In this video I show you how to maintain, clean, and reset your Norelco 4500.  If in question, follow your instruction manual or take it to a shop if you need help.

DETAIL TRIMMING:
The Philips OneBlade is very precise and has two side trimmers on the top and bottom. You have to place it flat against you skin. Its only for facial hair note for body hair as the blades are too fine. Just rinse out the hair after every use.

NOSE HAIR:
The Conair Men nose trimmer ( https://amzn.to/3dveTVk ) is a one of the best nose trimmers i used as it shaves in 360 and on the sides of the inserts. Very impressive. Before the Conair, i used a rounded tip safety scissors to VERY SLOWLY and CAREFULLY trim my nose hair. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using the Conair Nose trimmer its safer and faster than the scissors

INGROWN HAIR:
I still love using super sharp Gillette Fusion5 Men’s Razor blades ( https://amzn.to/2WDHMrv ). If you have ingrown hair and have issues with using electric razor a manual razor is a good solution. It gets expensive if you dont clean the blades after every use.

(1 Year Review)COSTCO! SUNFORCE Triple Head Solar Motion Activated Light – REVIEW 3

So its been about 1 year since I unboxed and installed the Costco SUNFORCE Triple Head Solar Motion Activated Light. Its has LED lights and runs on 3 AA NiMh batteries and solar.  It was installed  They have different versions on Amazon:  http://amzn.to/2EMFY8N  .

It was installed under the eve of the roof so it was out of the direct sun light for about a third of the day.  The solar panel was installed on the roof of the house. and the hole was sealed by silicone and roof tar.   The batteries last for about 30 minutes so i had it set on test mode so it would just signal me when someone was in our yard.  It still works and i like its simplicity.

In my previous review i was planning to upgrade the batteries ( https://wp.me/p9dbox-eG ) but the originals has now failed yet. I havent put Eneloop Rechargable Batteries in to it yet but will do a follow up review of the batteries in another 6 months: http://amzn.to/2FdJYwM
