Every three months, i try to clean up my car to have it run more efficiently. From ridding the car of trash, receipts, and an ocassional french fry that escaped being eatten to 3 month maintenance on the car: oil changes, fuild checks, tire rotations, and light car detail.

 I started with the fuild checks: oil, brake fuild, steering fuild, transmission, coolant, and battery water levels. From dip sticks to visually checking the levels, it was systematic and simple. Easy 10 minutes checks can tell a driver how much eth car has been used and if any other parts needs to be looked into.

I have been trying to save gas during my commute. Efforts to do so was by implementing hyper mileaging.  We  i started off by opening the windows rather than the air conditioning. Then by coasting half the block rather than leaving my foot on the gas pedal and braking 40 feet from the intersection. And lastly, by driving at or below the speed limit. Well its been commuting and more commuting.  I have joined a carpool at my work place in Long Beach California.  After clocking about 450 miles a week, and using about 3 gallons of gas in one day, about 60 gallons of gas a month.

i have been commuting from Los Angeles to Long Beach for about 5 months now and recently the air got really polluted. Partially due to the Malibu and Irvine fires during the weekend. Moreover I realized how dirty my air is in southern california.

Its been a couple of months working for a new place and making a little more money. However i have went through my receipts and figured out I was spending a lot more than I would have liked to. Gas, car maintainence, clothing for work, lunches due to location, has all added up along with new lifestyle changes.

 I have been driving and flying to northern California to visit friends and family and have been spending money there too. Argh. i am still in my budget, but i realized it is beyond my normal spending.

Argh! I got a new job. I figure a use my hand dandy Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS to work. I drove down the 710 to wonderful port city of Long Beach were every 10 miles of the 35 miles I drive one way has a major interestion with another freeway or highway. the 91, the 405, the 105, and the dreaded 10 freeway all slow the traffic down 10-20 minutes of my commute.

Great means of getting around town: Electric Scooters

 I have been looking for an alternate method of making my commute from home to school and work. I work about 10 miles away and found that electric bikes or scooters may be an alternate to me driving my 3300 lb car that  gives me 20  miles per gallon.  With quick charge and all electric means it is a good solution.
